  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

I am struggling with the wipers. Unfortunately...I’ve driven my new ride more in the rain than dry...really sucks.

I have my wipers on Auto. I cannot first a proper position on the rocker sensitivity switch.

With rain and speed consistent...wipers will go from acceptable speed to full blast speed. I then have to turn them off to settle them down.

Not getting it...and it’s annoying as fvck...especially when I should be paying attention to the road...not playing with controls.
Yeah it's quirky. I had to keep changing from Auto to the lower settings quite often. On the Plus side, they are super quiet!

I first read this a couple of hours ago and it got me thinking. I don't know what actually takes place when you turn the adjustment and a couple of others said they could not find a good setting. When I first got my car, it was similar and I was making a lot of adjustments. Then one day I turned them on and have not made a change since.

I'd say they are about 90% good. Once in a while they seem a little fast or a little slow but that only lasts a very short time depending on conditions. I can't think of any part that would "wear in" but that is what seemed to happen after some uses. A protective coating on the windshield? Seems like that could have an effect based on how they work
Rain sensor - Wikipedia
The most common modern rain sensors are based on the principle of total internal reflection: an infrared light is beamed at a 45-degree angle into the windshield from the interior — if the glass is wet, less light makes it back to the sensor, and the wipers turn on.

Wasn't sure where to put this...figured this thread might be good.

Not specific to the G70...but it is shown in 3 of the items. Fake exhaust sound (actually complimented on doing a good job), slap on nav screen and turbo charging (which I disagree with in this segment).

Anyhoo...good watch...I like this guy...

I mentioned this previously as one reason why I am going for the advanced 3.3T with the manual adjustments. I never liked the auto on my current car exactly for the same reason you stated. Sucks to hear they didn't improve upon the 2015 model wiper system.

Well there are adjustments. There is Auto, Low and High.

On Auto...there are about 6 increments that adjust sensitivity. I just haven’t figured out the sweet spot.

The fact that they didn't put all LED turn markers and ambient lighting is shocking. While I understand one driving can't see the rear turn signals, it just looks cheap. Older cheap Dodge, Ford and dump trucks have LED, why can't a $51k car have them. Also back seat was FAR too small. Almost unusable for adults.

Additionally, I saw a review somewhere online (I think it was a Canadian review video) where the seats were showing serious signs of wear on the edges already.

That was discussed in another thread and is very logical. If it worked with the car off, anyone could open the door if you had the car out for any reason. One of the most common ways thieves enter homes is through the garage.

A member here recently had his car stolen from the garage when his daughter's car was outside and the opener in it. They got into the house, took the keys, took the car.
People still steal cars these days?! I thought that was a thing of the 80's and 90's lol.

Yep, it was me. They stole my car out of my driveway. Just like Ed said.

Like seriously or are you joking?

Not joking....they stole my car because they needed a ride go and rob a gas station ~10 miles away.

The car was found and recovered 2 blocks from my home. It's all good now.

Dang! At least you got it back.

Did you use Genesis Vehicle Recovery?

No. The car was found ~30 minutes later after we reported stolen. A two squad cars showed up at my house, while one of them officers stayed with us asking questions, the other one asked if I had any photos of my car, so I showed him my "hot" Havana Red, then he said it shouldn't be hard to spot it if it stays on the streets. Then he said he'd drive around a few blocks and look for it, he said it's a common thing for thief to dump the car nearby. He was right! 5 min later he called the other officer on radio saying that he found the car 2 blocks away, still in the same sub division, lol

Is the "Genesis Vehicle Recovery" thing same as "CAR FINDER" in Genesis app? because if it is, that thing is totally useless! as of right now, it shows my car is still parked at my friend's body shop 3 weeks ago! lol

Good question. There is a way that BlueLink can slow down and stop the car too. It is only available to law enforcement though.
Blue Link® Technology Features - Monitoring
Now, stolen vehicles have a lot better chance of being recovered. In the event a vehicle is reported stolen and a report has been filed with the appropriate police department, the Blue Link response center can provide assistance to the police in an attempt to locate and recover the vehicle. Stolen Vehicle Slowdown enables law enforcement to gradually reduce the engine power of the vehicle, slowing it down to safe levels. A warning is also transmitted to the driver prior to the slowdown procedure. Stolen Vehicle Immobilization enables law enforcement to send a signal to the vehicle, which immobilizes the engine management system, preventing it from starting.

It is different from the vehicle locator. You call Genesis Connected Services once you have a police report number and they coordinate with the police agency to locate, immobilize the car. Sounds like it is similar to or part of blue link.

Ideally, they would also set the seat heaters to “incapacitate,” but that feature is not yet available.

darek,
This is the first I have heard about thefts. Is there some special weakness in the G70 and/or Genesis that I have missed. (At least you didn't have to pay for a parking ticket that the thieves got while they were using my wife's stolen Acura. We got it back three weeks later, parked two blocks away from our house. The worst damage was finger print dust.)

The thing is that my car was "brought back" and parked near the house, before we knew it. So it was all good but....the detective knew the car was used in a crime scene and he was trying to connect all "dots" and track the car down when it went. We called BlueLink and 1st they said they don't provide/collect such information, then the detective introduced himself (we were talking with them over the speaker in PD station) then she said she would call back after talking to her manager. She called us back 10 min later back on PD landline and said, they would provide us with some data, well......they never did!

My advise would be - stay away from nice/flashy cars (such as Genesis).... those cars drives a lot of attention, even thief like them, lol
