  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Exactly. Folks who want it on the fob must recognize that you have to be practically on top of the car to connect. At least line of sight or with almost no walls between you. What good is that? Or do you want an even bigger fob with a bigger antenna and battery?

I’m sure lots of folks have some story about how it worked perfectly for them when it was on the fob in another car. But I just don’t see how that’s possible

You put it up to your head and turn your head into an antenna. I actually get some quite ridiculous range from my G70 key doing it ;)

If you put it below your chin you'll get a little bit more range. I'm not kidding, I've seen a lot of videos about that.

I wasn't joking. I prefer directing the radiation to my temple. I managed to lock my car from my building door (opposite ends of the parking lot) by using my noggin' :roflmao::hillarious:

I will now see myself out for that pun

Question for some of the owners here. Test drove the G70 and maybe the biggest drawback I noticed was legroom in the back seat. A 6’2 driver will have the seat back far enough that it seems unrealistic to put an adult in the back seat. Anyone having that issue?

.

I am 6 ‘4” and when I have the seat in a comfortable driving position for me a smaller adult can sit behind me or if it’s for a short distance I’ll just move my seat up but 90% of the time it’s just me my wife and our four-year-old granddaughter in her car seat

It’s funny too because I’ve seen certain regions have key fobs with a button for remote start. I have also seen in Korea they have Genesis + Samsung Galaxy Watches that have a custom face to start the car remotely as well.

It’s a compact sports sedan, back seat has limited room. Fine for short trips, but if you regularly have yourself and 3 other 6’2 passengers the G80 might be a better choice. I do 2+ hour trips with my girlfriend and another passenger (who sits behind the passenger seat) and it’s all fine.

On my old Infiniti, if I pressed and held the unlock button on the keyfob it would drop all the windows so you could let the hot air out. I wish I still had that feature.

Yep our Infiniti G37x (weird having two “G” cars) does that. Here in Arizona not a real benefit since it’s so hot the remote start interface I installed works better for my wife as she parks within line of sight.

LOL I went from a G37x to a G70. Odd that you have the X though, I would imagine most cars in Arizona would be RWD if there was an option.

We moved from Vancouver WA so the x was great in the rain and mild snow we got in the Portland area.6D6D4585-089F-4BBF-8EFB-46C5F147374F.webp

That makes sense. I didn't hate the G37, though it was a bit common for my liking and lacked some refinement. It had great steering feel and I've always liked the VQ engines. The real Achilles Heel of that car was the automatic transmission, which I absolutely despised from minute one. It was never in the right gear, took forever to downshift when I needed it to, and just did things that didn't make any logical sense in totally sane normal driving. G70 transmission is great, but honestly even my mom's 2006 accord's transmission was great compared to the G37.

It’s the wife’s commuter car and the G70 is our toy. I have a company car for work.

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but how hard would
It be to retrofit power trunk in a 2019? The 2020 is getting it but the 2019 obviously has a cut out for it the button. Wonder how much it would cost

There was a post recently about it. Not sure if it was OEM or aftermarket but the kit was $700.

I traded up from an Infiniti (G35X) too. Dealer gave me above KBB value and I think they get incentives to poach certain brands, not positive though. Would be interesting to know which brands Genesis is stealing the most drivers from.

What do you guys do for carrying smaller items, like a couple of bottles of wine, a doggie bag, or a gallon of milk - without having to drive like a granny? I don't find the flat cargo net all that secure and miss my old Infiniti cargo net that suspended things more securely against the back of the trunk.
