  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Exactly. When I went on line and built one a few months ago to be as equivalent as possible to my 3.3T AWD Design edition, it came out around $68k if I recall. That's over a $15k difference. Of course, it has a roomier backseat, bigger trunk and better resale, and you can often get at least $5k off the sticker (and another $1500 from the BMWCCA), but still. The Germans love to make everything an option.

I think the Heads Up Display (HUD) is just an after thought - this is pretty basic tech and could easily be improved.

Why the F did you buy the car? Post after post...you bitch about the car. You should have bought a used rental.

Really? there are 74 pages of conversation and I made 3 posts - and you are going to call me out for sharing my opinion? Why not go to the what I love thread and give me kudos for sharing my 5 posts there for equality.

2020 3.3T Elite

- Cramped back seat....I always feel bad when I take people in my back seat
- Small trunk, but I came from a Civic Hatchback; that swallowed anything I threw at it, so it's just an adjustment.
- LKAS button on the dash to the left of the steering wheel is literally the worst position for it. I have to look down to figure out where it is every time; can't even feel for it.
- Front left brake shuddering, but not all the time. Not exactly sure what it is, but at 4900 miles, I shouldn't be having brake system problems.

Welcome to the Genesis brake pad deposit issue. If you search this forum, you'll find plenty of info. You will likely need new, better pads (at your cost) after having the rotors turned (dealer will cover this). Ridiculous.

I know I've said this on the forum before, but my '09 G37 did that, too. Had the rotors turned twice, pads replaced 3x, all within 60k miles. Finally replaced rotors and pads with a set from Centric, bought from RockAuto (great price) - only drove it another 20k miles, but the brakes were smooth as butter and never had an issue.

Many people think the issue is warped rotors, but that rarely happens. As you said it's uneven brake pad deposits on the rotors. Turning them removes the deposits. My rotors needed replacing because they had been turned to the limits, but the pads really did make a difference.

My '19 G80 only has 8,500 mi but no issues at all with the brakes so far.

Agreed. My G70 has been fine since getting new rotors and buying the Euro pads over 10k miles ago.

Seat bottom is smaller than it needs to be. And, imo, too biased towards the center. My right knee hits the center stack and my left thigh is hit by the seat bolster leaving my leg to skew a little uncomfortably if I'm holding my left foot down on the "third pedal". I'm not that fat. 6' 200#. I've even been thinking about taking the seat out and trying to see if there would be any way to "cant" the seat outward a couple of degrees.

Agreed. Driver seat is off-center, or too on center, from the pedal box. What options package do you have on the car... Some have the ability to extend the seat cushion. Saved me.

My wife is 5’2” and is having a problem seeing the complete HUD. I’m thinking about lifting the seat about maybe 1/2 inch (which I’ve done in a number of other cars) but the interdependency of the safety tech and engineering in current makes me question the wisdom of making “positioning” changes. It might shift liability and safety performance in case of an accident.

All of them. Yes the thigh bolster is fully extended. If only one of the multiple power adjustments allowed you to swivel the seat a couple of degrees out that might fix it. Or even mounting the seat outboard a couple of inches. It seems like there is wasted space between the seat and the door.

Is it wasted? I wonder if side airbags are a function of seat location to the side.

Probably the case. Still, it is wasted for the entire time you own the car. Unless it's needed for the microsecond of impact and deployment during an accident.

Lol I could have written this response - my 2013 G37 did the same thing, had to eventually get Centric high-carbon rotors and Centric pads to fix the judder. This was a design issue that was never addressed in the manufacturing process, they must have not been able to or something.

Our rotors don't get hot enough to warp, it's pad material deposits like you said. You need a race car to warp the rotors, or some crazy cheap-ass Chinese steel rotors.

Complaining is part of loving something. Just ask a wife.
