  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

The TLX, Accord and the A4 (to a lesser extent perhaps) are also nose heavy less than spirited cars.
I wanted to give different options, but that's the thing. If you want RWD, ~50/50 weight distribution, with more space than the G70, your options are the Infiniti Q50 or 5 Series class cars that cost a ton more.

Some folks on the G80 Forum are recommending the G80 Sport (RWD version has a F to R weight distribution of 51 / 49%). Some are saying it offers the best of both worlds but I have yet to test drive one.

I returned my leased Q50 (had it for 3.5 years) the same day I picked up my G70. I can confirm that the Q50 has more room in the back seat. It's noticeably bigger. That said, I like the G70 much more than I liked the Q50. I really liked the Q50, but it hasn't been updated in almost 5 years. The tech, fit/finish, and smoothness of the engine/transmission don't compare to the G70. If rear seat space is critical, the Q50 is worth a look. It's a good car and the lease deals are fantastic. However, the rear seat room is literally the only thing that I like more about the Q50 than the G70.

Those VQ engines are pretty smooth are they not?
The Q50 is one of the larger cars for its class!

I loved my G37S...used to rev the f$%k out of it. Amazing sound.
I used to own a J30 with the VG30DE engine. Silky smooth!

I am not "liking" the "all Summer" tires on so many cars. I do not live sufficiently "north" to justify switching tires (between Winter and Summer); I do not live sufficiently "south" to be able to get away with "all Summer" tires in the Winter. And--how many trims have different sized tires on the front and rear--I have that on one car and wanted to avoid that on other cars.
I still like the car; and still have not seen one in person; and still plan to buy one--but not positive that I am fond of this aspect. :)

I don't blame you. Some of us, due to our location, will essentially be forced to buy a separate set of tires just to drive the car in the winter months due to the factory wheel/tire options. Honestly, I'm even considering buying a beater Subaru just to drive during the winter, but that's no stretch for me - drove crap beaters and did minimal repairs myself all through college and while paying off my student loans, so I'm used to it, plus it relieves my own anxiety about other people running/sliding into my car as I don't care about it.

One dealer I spoke with said they had all season tires on all of the Sport trims--once I actually see a car in person (and know for sure I like it), I may make a trip to them and buy from them if it is the difference in not having to mess with separate tires (or not drive during the Winter). (This dealer also did not have different tires on front and back.) I'm not savvy enough to be able pick up a car that I take care of on my own--but kudos to you for having that as an option. :)

Others can correct me if needed but I think all Sport trims come with summer performance tires.
I thought that as well, but he sent me vehicle information showing all season tires -- so not sure. I will follow-up/ask him about--but I still have not seen an actual car, so I haven't been pushing too hard yet. (I thought all Sport came with staggered/different tires as well) -- but what he sent me, for a 3.3T (MB/Black) listed: "18 inch alloy wheels with Michelin All Season Tires (P225/45R18)". Perhaps they are switching out at the dealership??

My bet is they incorrectly listed an advanced/elite/prestige 3.3T trim as sport since these come with 18'' all seasons for awd models. Sports come with 19'' summers regardless of drivetrain

More than likely it is not a Sport trim but others have studied the different trims much more closely.

Does the sport trim delete the spare tire? Is this true for all versions with the 19" tires?

I think it is only Dynamic that comes with a repair kit and not a spare.

Maybe--the sheet he sent me lists "Sport Package" and has Dark Chrome Grille & Window Trim, Dark Tint Taillight Covers, Copper Bezel Accents--I'll email him again. It seemed not to match, to me, the information I was reading elsewhere at the time; he has been helpful though, so I'll see what else I can find out.

If he is referencing an actual car that he has been allocated just get the VIN. This way you can look at the window sticker and see exactly what it has on it.

Edit: I'm getting slow at typing, @Beefer got me. :outtahere:
