  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

^ weird. mine is a 2.0T and i have the adjustable bolsters. the bolsters also inflate when Sport mode is turned on.
the RWD and Highest Trims have the Bolsters.

I have a 2021 G70 and I feel that the back end of the vehicle with just the wing badge is so much better than the refreshed 2022 with the Genesis name on it. And yeah, ambient lighting and valet mode was missing on the 2021.

And that is why I removed the Genesis name on my 2022 GV70 and replaced it with the wing emblem. Looks so much better and get more stares with it!

This is something I’m considering as well but may stop at removing the genesis lettering. What was your process for removing and any worries of damaging the paint?

Yes, 100%. One of the main reason I chose to go with a new 2021 vs. a new 2022 was the look of the back end. I could not stand the look of the big Genesis lettering (looks cheap reminds me of the newer Sonata's or Elantra's). Also, the 3.3T emblem on the 2022's does not look nearly as good as the previous generations IMO as well..

Things I dislike so far:

- how u cant switch between custom mode and comfort directly, being forced to go thru Sport and Sport+. When I'm switching (often) the car downshifts hard (sport+) and then upshifts back when I get to comfort, makes the transition a bit jerky.
- custom mode: wish there was a step between comfort and sport, so the shifting doesn't get as aggressive as sport but not as bland as comfort
- no way to access directly Waze from my android auto, best I could find is two clicks, wish I could setup the nav button to open Waze (my mazda does that).
- wish there was a way to manually open and close the exhaust valve that is not connected to the driving mode. I.e. if like to keep car in sport/custom but with valve closed (on longer trips)

Care to ship the letters to the Midwest?

I have a few small complaints about my G70 now that I've had a chance to actually drive it. I find I don't care for the automatic sliding seat upon entry and exit of the car. I am on the shorter side at 5'8", and I find that it makes it hard to reach the door handles to close the door, and it actually makes it harder to get in and out of the car. I'll almost certainly be disabling that feature, it seems more appropriate for taller drivers or perhaps those that are bigger around the midsection.

I also am not a huge fan of the way that the rear seats are indented at the bottom, as it creates issues with my daughters booster seat. It causes the booster seat to cover up the seatbelt connector clip, and causes issues with her being able to buckle up her seatbelt. For now I have a towel placed underneath the car seat protector cover that sits underneath her booster seat to flatten the surface of the seat out some, but it is still too indented for the booster seat to sit where it needs to.
Hi maxsilver,

Did you find a way to disable the automatic sliding seat? My son was sitting in back (which is bad already) and got his legs trapped when the seat slid back.

Thank you!

Being tall this was the first thing I enabled. On 2022, its under vehicle settings, seat, easy access. You can turn the extending feature off

Have had my 2020 RWD 3.3 Sport for about a month now. Biggest annoyances are:

I wish it had a numerical output of the oil temperature/instant mpg/torque/boost. The bars are annoying when I want to know the actual number

The center cubby doesn't really have a good spot to put my phone when plugged in for carplay. I don't want to put it on the wireless charger and ruin my batter, but there's not really much space to put it in front of the connectors.

The plastic panel right underneath the hvac controls rattles over every single bump and absolutely drives me crazy

Backup camera gets smudged easily and hard to see out of (VW's camera that remains hidden until you are in reverse has spoiled me)

I wish there was a "manual mode" to keep control of changing the gears rather than just having to use the paddles to initiate

You can deactivate/reactivate wireless charging. Genesis has an instructional video about it.

By far my biggest complaint is that I have to turn on the ventilated seats every time I get in the car for half the year. My last several vehicles had modes that turned them on at a preset ambient temperature.

Do you have to drive it, for the free warranty work? Guess you would have to for repairs, unless a closer Hyundai dealer can do the work.
