  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The title says it all.... Feel free to discuss your plans... If there's something I missed, please don't hesitate to mention it...

For Genesis coupe..Playing with boost can't be done with ordinary boost controller unless ECU is modified or reflashed, because boost press is controlled by ECU. I would suggest to add in aftermarket Blow off valve kit and intercooler upgrade since they are the hot items in Korea now for Genesis Coupe owners.

Thank you! I've updated the poll.. So no boost tuning, huh?

Wheels and Tires, duh.

Welcome aboard, wiggyx.. Thank you for signing up.. I'm not clear on your comment. What's funny about wheels and tires but not interior/exterior customization? The poll is obviously about more than "performance" modifications...

I meant the "duh" part as funny, as it's a pretty typical first mod in my experience.

Oh! Thank you for the clarification. :)

well we own 2 of 2.0 genesis coupes and 1 of 3.8 genesis coupe in Korea, and I am sure I know what I am talking about :)

my first modification will be the lights in the trunk..replacing them with brighter LEDs. Nice trunk but too dark for my unlit driveway. I also have the 3m clear cover for the front end which I probably will put on sometime soon. Already have the first rock chip on the hood after only 600 miles! The Baltimore to NY corridor is a tough place to keep rock chips from hitting your cars.

You're welcome.
Boost tuning can be done but by reflash .. you need to trick out the ECU or actuator or aftermarket wastegate itself
What's available for tuning at this point? I know Cobb Tuning is working on an Accessport for them, but I haven't heard of much else.

What about something like a MAP clamp? Does the Genesis use a MAP or MAF sensor? Most modern boosted cars have their boost managed by the ECU. But, you can either trick the ECU or bypass it entirely (IE. hooking the vacuum lines up to the WGA. The ECU still sees the boost still, but might complain via an overboost code, etc.). I'm not doubting your knowledge, just asking if that'd be a possibility in the future?

It seems the next question would be whether or not we are going to be able to re flash the ECU for more boost and how can we not void our warranty. How much does a reflash generally cost? Does the ECU control the waste gate or an electronic boost controller solenoid so only a reflash is necessary or will we also need a boost controller in addition to the reflash? Can't wait to feel 15psi lock that LSD up and send the car sideways. :D:D:D

1st, head lamp & tail lamp upgrades. It's an inespensive way to make a big difference on the asthetics. Disassemble front head lamps, paint back ground red to match the red R-Spec Genesis Coupe I'm getting, reinstall with factory upgraded HID Xenons (the R-Spec doesn't come w/HIDs for weight savings). I'm all about weight loss, but after having HIDs for so long in my bimmer, I just can't live w/o them. Remove tail lamps & replace w/after market similar to the sedans if available. If not, disassemble the tails & paint back ground black to give a tinted look.
