  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What would it take to get you to buy a 2014 Genesis?

I just bought a 2013 Genesis 2.0T RSPEC Coupe with the six-speed manual. LOVE IT!

I like the driving feel of it better than the 3.8 RSPEC, that's why I bought it.

Buuuuuut... If they were to make an RSPEC Coupe with the Tau engine, AWD, upgraded Brembos, suspension, 500HP and baffles that open at 3,000rpm decreasing back-pressure, a ten speed (or more) automatic w/paddle shifters or the six speed manual and keep it under $50,000.00 I'd buy it now. (I don't trade my cars in. I sell them privately).

sounds to me like a GT-R and that's closer to 90k territory there.

I just wanna see the damn thing without all that black crap all over it

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
What would it take for me to buy a 2014 Genesis? Well, obviously, after reading the April issue of Consumer Reports it would take Hyundai to fix all those damn audio problems that gave the 2012 Genesis such a rotten rating.

^ Might be time to change audio suppliers (or go in-house); having some "big name" in the audio field doesn't ensure quality.

I wouldn't take one if it was given to me.

Why troll on the forums like this if you don't even own one. I understand people who are looking to purchase one having questions, but to make stupid comments like this one should just get you booted from the forums IMO.

I expect to be an early buyer of a 2014 Rspc. I will sell my 4.6L 2010 at 3 years old this summer and it will have 75,000 miles. And I expect to keep the 2014 for six years (150K miles). I have purchased many, many vehicles over the years and this will be the first one of the same make and model ever. That's how much I love this car.

I agree with pretty much everything others have said so far as to wants (the first few are demands!):

1. Better iPod interface and NAV
2. The saddle brown interior option with black exterior in the Rspc
3. Paddle shifters and a lower torque off the start - this thing is very slow off the line but incredibly fast after 40mph
4. LED driving lights like the Audi
5. I like my wood trim and steering wheel much better than what is out now.
6. Rear fold-down seats
7. A little more throaty exhaust sound. I don't want to go to afternarket exhausts.

Well after reading and researching here and elsewhere I determined that a 2014 Rspec in the new body style probably won't be in the U.S. until 2015. At 70,000 miles on my 2010 and the lease not up until summer (mileage overages were killing me) I decided to take Hyundai up on their offer to let me out of my last 5 lease payments. I got a great deal on a new 2012 V6, loaded - couldn't see any difference between that and a 2013. I also can't tell much difference in speed between the new engine and the 4.6.

I expect I'll keep this one about 4 years and hope for paddle shifters on a supercharged 5.0 in 2017! And hope the above items are included by then.

Don't have a history on the "damn" audio problems, but as an owner of a 2012 I can say that I've had 3 instances over the past year and a half where my audio simply went missing.

Pulling a fuse and re-inserting the same fuse "fixes" the problem every time.

First time happened as i was leaving in the car from dealership, next time a week later, and then about a month ago.

Nothing happened with the audio system besides that and it still sounds good.
