    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Whats the G70 pricing already !!

April 2 is the day I can stop being so secretive about payments! Lol

I'm from Red Deer. Just tell us the Canadian pricing! I need to think long and hard about it before the NDP bring in the PST! hahaha/

Looks like the US G70 announcement is tomorrow at the New York International Auto Show.

https://www.autoshowny.com/gallery/cars/genesis-g70/

I'm hopeful we in the US get some more information from the NYIAS, specifically pricing and options (ie pre-order!). In addition to that, I gotta be honest, if the G70 ends up being 55k-58k for the 3.3T I will be a little turned off. I mean, the M2 is ~52k, and I get a nice discount from USAA... I guess time will tell. Either way, seeing it and feeling it in person will be my deciding factor.

Thanks for the updates.

I can't post pricing. However, if you are interested in pre-ordering you can message me and I can let you know more. ;)

That is Canadian pricing. US pricing, let alone the G70's existence itself, hasn't been officially released as of yet.

- - - Updated - - -

Actual payments come out on April 2. It keeps on getting delayed for some reason. As I've mentioned before, please feel free to give me a shout if you would like to pre-order as I have more details RE: pricing.

Ok. The CR info, at first looked like they had road tested the G70 but closer examination they had "Tested Trim" across the picture. Apparently their comments utilized testing info from the G80 Sport and the 3.3T. Assuming the results to be similar with the G70. CR called it the 2019 G70. No testing Info on the 4 cyc turbo. Look forward to the April 2 release.

In light of the announcement in the US today...

We know that the connected services app will be available in the USA with 3 years of service. I can't find where I read that the app will also be available in Canada for 5 years. It may have been in that video from the Montreal auto show? Can we confirm ;

5 year, 100,000 km warranty
5 year map updates
5 year access to connected services app
5 year roadside ?

Thanks

Canada (from the Genesis.ca site):

Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance for 5 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
Enjoy peace of mind with a 5 year / 100,000 km comprehensive warranty.
Keep your vehicle’s advanced navigation system up-to-date with complimentary annual updates.
24 HOUR Roadside Assistance - 5 Years / unlimited km

Most things seem to be 5 years apart from:
REPLACEMENT Accessories - 3 Years / 60,000 km
REPLACEMENT Parts - 1 Years / 20,000 km

I should have just asked about connected services but there's the answer...

Awesome coverage and incredible news. Thanks YEG.

Well of course it is. It's a class size smaller for sure. Of course you can get it for cheaper.

If you want to go down in size there are probably some others too that are in the M2 size class.

I suspect the top of the line sport G70 fully loaded will be between 50-60K. The Stinger's +52K, the G80 3.3T gets close to 60K. I think @Toddasaurus is going to be sad when the pricing does come out. But...I am hopefull they keep it as low as possible or offset it with some insane leasing deals.

i was at the Vancity auto show this weekend. spent some time in the G70 and speaking to the rep there. she was much more helpful than the emails i'd previously received from the various "genesis experience managers". my focus is the 6MT model, which i'm stuck with the 2.0T i guess. the auto show car was a mallorca blue (bright blue) 3.3T Sport AWD model with grey stitching. i'd choose either the mallorca blue or adriatic blue (darker) with red stitching.

the car was very nicely put together, a bit tight in the back seat - especially foot room under the front seats. trunk seemed a bit tight too, but other than that the materials and touch surfaces were all impressive. sharp looking 4-pot/2-pot F/R brake package in red. i'm used to the big brake package from my Infiniti G37S Sedan (6MT) so it is a must at this point. most german models have sliding calipers in the rear - if not the front too.

i was told the 6MT model would be ~$45.5k CAD. official pricing will be announced this week according to the rep i spoke to. very interested to see what Genesis can do to sweeten the deal further, either with financing or cash incentives.

my primary concerns (other than not having driven a unit or seen actual production vehicles) are with the brand and the model, as well as dropping down to 252hp turbo-4cyl from my 330hp 3.7l V6.

Genesis is a new(ish) venture from a traditionally lower-tier maker. i still remember my dad's 1986 Hyundai Pony. not a fond memory. Hyundai has come a long long way in recent years and now make great vehicles so the stigma will fade soon enough. but has it yet? of course Lexus had to blaze a trail too when they launched but Toyota had a higher regard in most people's minds at that time IMO.

then there's the G70 model itself being brand new. i've always been skeptical about the first model year of any car regardless of make. the Stinger is close, but it is also new so not much for history there. has Hyundai/Genesis worked out any kinks? hard to tell until reports start to roll in. and when does Hyundai typically do mid-cycle refresh? after ~3 years similar to most manufacturers?

i've never owned a turbo vehicle, so i will certainly need to test out the grunt from the 2.0T compared against my G37S V6. if the turbo can provide much more lower-end power for use around town that may offset the loss of top-end hp that i'd certainly be losing.

i did place a pre-order just in case, but will take my time with the G70 decision and testing the M235/240 6MT (used), the A4 6MT, as well as a few others. i have time since 6MT units will not arrive until later in the summer. my beloved G37S has been rock solid, and still is, so it also weighs heavily as a perfectly fine car to keep. still under 100k kms, but at 8-9 model years old, i'm hedging my bets for increased maintenance costs.

Its been out in Korea for six months now and very well received. No signs of trouble there that I have heard of. Also the singer which is built on the same base has no major issues afaik. I'm really eager to see the pricing because I have a very eager Audi dealer who is very flexible on pricing on an a4 calling me.

I can't post pricing. However, if you are interested in pre-ordering you can message me and I can let you know more. ;)

Mind Sharing with me? lol I just created my account and tried PMing but its not allowing me. Perhaps I have to post a few times like other forums. I just put my deposit down for a 3.3T 2 days ago! Im just south of you in Calgary.

Thanks

Official pricing will be out today. You can remove the ~ from the price of the 2.0T Sport. ;) However, Genesis Canada is the seller of these vehicles so there are no incentives unless you pre-order.

I may have driven the 2.0T before ;) It is pretty torquey down low and it actually sounds great even without the Sport exhaust of the 2.0T Sport. It isn't slow by any means but I am used to the 3.3T so it definitely feels an order of speed slower yet it is still a lot of fun to drive. The driving dynamics are AWESOME. Very flat cornering, very responsive and tight steering.

Genesis has been making big improvements. People are starting to realize the brand is legit and the reviews are showing it. Just ask Consumer Reports -- they rated Genesis #1 out of ALL brands!

G70 has been out in Korea for a while and no major issues are there. I don't think there will be anything major here. It will probably have a refresh in 3-4 years. The car is rock solid from my experience with it and you will NOT be disappointed.

^ thanks for the info. i agree that Genesis is making great strides. but for every high ranking article i read, i see another on the flip side (i.e. Genesis makes an awesome used-vehicle purchase due to high depreciation). i tend to keep vehicles for a while so resale values aren't at the top of my list, but still, it is a consideration. i also know that German vehicles plummet in value after ~4-5 years and my Infiniti hasn't been a star in that regard either.

looking forward to seeing official pricing today, or soon. the Genesis dealer model is a new one for me, not sure if it suits folks who do like the haggle.

as for the 2.0T power, i'm sure it is no slouch but driving is believing! my bro-in-law has a 2013 Genesis coupe with the manual 2.0T (~270hp?) and it can move pretty well. of course, if the G70 shines in overall handling and suspension tuning that can make up for a lack of a bit of power. the BMW E36 was never known for all-out power, but the handling made it a winner year after year.

I have seen almost every bit of media on this car and i believe the only people who have driven it are a couple of Aussie journalists and of course Koreans.
I have not seen anything negative on this car except a few NA journalists opinions about the car on paper as none have driven yet.

I will hopefully have a new car in a week or 2 and it is either this G70 a BMW M240 or an Audi S3 , i will share my thoughts on my test drive hopefully within a week depending on my Genesis contact as i have seen the cars at the dealership so i will soon see how this car holds up

The moment you all have been waiting for. ;)

Advanced = $42k
2.0T Sport = $45.5k
Elite = $47k
Prestige = $52k
3.3T Dynamic = $52k
3.3T Sport = $57.5k

;)

Thankfully, Genesis has been making improvements to make their vehicles hold value better. ALG ranked the G80 Sport as the winner for best residual for 2018. ALG is also giving the 3.3T G70s high residuals.

The handling is spot on even on the non-Sport models. Very happy so far. It is a completely different driving experience than the G80 Sport. Also, LAUNCH CONTROL! :)

I wonder how close the US prices will be. $52K CAD is about $40.2k USD.. That is a nice step up from a Sonata Limited.

I did some math last week...and my guestimate was $55k USD. I based it on the G80 AWD Sport...compared CAD and USD, etc, etc.

Do you know when leasing deals are out?
