I doubt that GF-5 will have a big impact on the full synthetic oils from companies like Mobil 1, Pennzoil, Castrol, etc, except those who are already not API certified like Amsoil (their oils are extremely robust, but have trouble meeting fuel efficiency standards for energy conserving formula designation even under GF-4). The oils designed to meet BMW, MB, and VW specs may also have some challenges meeting greater fuel efficiency standards. Might also effect Mobil 1 EP (Extended Performance) and Castrol Edge oils also.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Mobil 1 AFE (Advanced Fuel Economy) line of synthetics already meet GF-5 specs.
