  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I ran into a price worthy solution for wheel and tire storage for my garage. Currently, I store my Genesis in the winter, but my Outback and my wifes Optima have winter tires/wheels and the OEM wheels/tires, so I thought the Amazon link below was pretty nice for the price. I've looked at a few others online including the one's from TireRack but they're too frickin' expensive. I just ordered 2 of these for $81.12 with 2 day shipping. Product is 15.5 pounds and Dimensions are 28 x 48 x 28 inches. Currently, I am storing 8 wheels/tires in my garage rafters. Anyone else using a similar product? If so, please share and post details and pics!

Since it is 48" wide, it should mount OK on studs behind the sheetrock that are 16" on center. But always good to double check your stud config to make sure they are OK.

For under $41 I will probably be in for one as well - let us know once you have them up. I can see myself ordering a second one (or one of their other products) for storing my Christmas tree.

+1^ Will do. The shelves also fold up so it can be out of the way when not in use.

They made it 48" for a reason. 12" on center, 16" on center, or 24" on center (rare in US built homes) will all work. Anyone who uses wall anchors to mount this should upload the before and after videos to YouTube :p
Even the industrial strength Hilti anchors I use won't hold that load in Sheetrock.

I understand that. My point was that you had better double check with a stud finder to make sure they placed the studs accurately. I have been burned in the past when buying stuff meant to be mounted on studs, and then found out later that the construction workers were not very accurate in placing the studs.

My garage isn't sheetrocked:)^

It finally warmed up here in the Twin Cities so I was able to get both shelves mounted and loaded with wheels and tires. Pretty basic install. 3 lag bolts on each bracket into the studs. I'm happy for $81 for two shelves.
