  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Will you buy the new 2015 or wait??

Yes, but polarized lenses were invented by Polaroid Corporation (or at least invented by the person who later formed Polaroid Corporation). The similarity in names is not coincidental.

"Edwin Land, invented Polaroid, the world's first polarizing material for commercial use, in 1929. He founded the Polaroid Corporation in 1937 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company initially produced Polaroid Day Glasses, the first sunglasses with a polarizing filter."

I'll take Reflection and Refraction for $500, Alex. That's a really good trivia factoid. I knew he founded Polaroid and invented the Land camera, among other things, but I didn't know he invented Polaroid filter material before founding Polaroid Corp.

OK.

This brand of sunglass lens material is a combination of a polarized lens, and a special kind of "Transitions" lens technology that darkens behind a windshield, even if it has UV protection.

After researching any number of AWD cars for last three months and although I have really enjoyed owning my '11 4.6, I made the move to a CPO '13 Lexus GS350 AWD B/B. Deal was just too good including the 3 year 100K mile full coverage warranty to pass up, particularly after driving the car. I think the '15 3.8 AWD will be a great car with more tech than almost any other new car but in the end I was buying a car and not a computer. The MSRP of new Genesis puts into a entirely new class for cross shopping. The one reservation I had with 3.8 is performance. Did not want to move from a car that reportedly does 0-60 in 5.3 to another that may be in mid to high 6's. I will continue to visit this forum and can not wait to hear all the great reports about the '15.
Tompass - Good luck with the GS350. I drove a 2014 GS with optional sport seat (power side bolsters). I was going to trade my new 2013 Rspec due to seat issues. The GS was nice, but it was a bit to small, less wheel base, no where near the Lexicon stereo sound, and not near the power of the 2013 V8 Rspec I have.

Now, the 'sport optional' seat in the GS was way better than the Genesis, but the Genesis IMHO (except the seat)was much nicer. But you got what you wanted and needed, so have fun with the GS. Regards

drpearso- Thanks. GS is smaller but I would not say "much smaller" by any means. Much better handling and ride than my 11 4.6. Just two different kinds of cars. Regarding advertised performance and real world performance difference between the 4.6 and the GS, I would say they are very close. Big problem with 4.6 is the nanny. Car is rock solid. Mileage about the same. I hope this GS will treat me as well as the Genesis did for three years. AWD was primary concern and indications are that the 3.8 performance may have been somewhat diminished in '15. Will have to wait until the pundits do their thing. Saving a huge chunk of money was also a plus. Bass response from stock stereo in GS I think is more defined that the Lexicon system. Of course, loved the Lexicon sound system.
