If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those with a V8 and who is interested in wing logos for the wheels, I've noticed there is no part yet known (or sold that I know) to replace the Hyundai logo with the Genesis Wing logo. I do believe, however, the wheelcaps for the 17" wheels may possible be used to replace the Flying H Hyundai logo for the V8. It would require someone pulling off the bolt covers on the V8 wheels to see if the disc can be replaced. Here are some pictures.

This is from a base model Genesis car I saw at the courthouse yesterday:

The disc looks like it may be the same size as the disc within the V8 wheels:

What do you think?

Korean Auto Imports carries the wing caps for the 18" wheel. Won't this fit the wheels on the V8?

Unfortunately, the 18" wheel caps from auto imports won't work on the V8 rims. They will most likely "pop" on, but they won't match the design of the V8 rims.

damn! your photograph caused me to realize what you just posted. i guess when the classified section comes up here i will be posting 4 18" winged center pieces that WON'T work with the V-8 rims......

Don't worry too much. You'll find a buyer willing to take them off your hands. I just made the mistake myself recently from the supplier on eBay. Fortunately, I was able to correct the mistake.

I am looking towards the wheels for the V8 owners. I am thinking the $40 caps off eBay (not the $90 caps for the V6 18" wheels) will work for the V8, but this is just speculation. I was hoping a V8 owner would pull off the wheel caps to see if the Flying H disc with those wheels can be replaced from within, or will Hyundai have to provide a new OEM part....

Time will tell. I think I'll check when I find a V8 at my local dealership.

Thank you for the information. Perhaps in a couple of months, Hyundai dealers will start offering these and other accessories for the Genesis. It would be nice if Hyundai just got rid of the flying H on the Genesis.

I have a V8. I just pulled off the wheel caps. The flying H is removable from the outside, not from the inside. I nudged it a bit without completely removing it using a screwdriver. I think they may be glued or fairly tightly fit.

I can tell you this much: they're about 2"1/4 in diameter. It would be great if we can confirm the V6 wings would fit in there.

the winged ones i have are about 3.5" across.

I bought the rear badge, but the wheel inserts look cheap in my opinion. Black on Silver doesn't work for me. Maybe they will make a silver.

Good luck.

Well, I guess this puts this one theory down to rest :(

Not really, zedbyers has the V6 18" center cap replacements, which we already knew wouldn't fit. We need someone with the 17" center cap replacements to measure them and report back.

I put the larger round ones from Ebay on my v8 - tech5 with 18" wheels and they look just fine. The rippled spokes terminate at the cap edge but do not look abnormal or bad. I also installed the winged emblems. The rear emblem has smaller posts that fit in the standard holes. The front emblem has huge posts and the car has no holes or emblems on the hood so you have to cut away the posts as indicated on this forum. My wife likes the new emblems so well it is like it is a new car to her (it is for her....I drive a 2008 BMW 750Li and will get one of these when my lease is up in 2 years). I wrote to Hyundai and told them they should badge the Genesis with the winged logos here in the US. Women don't usually get into "techie things". So when you find something that they respond to and really like, you need to listen. My wife loves the car now. She said the other emblems are so bland and nondescript like every other oval with some stylized letter inside like Lexus, Infiniti, Honda, Toyota, Acura, Hyundai, etc. The winged logo stands out. Several have now asked her what kind of car is it? Hyundai needs to listen!

can you post some pictures of this? thanks!

I just posted several pictures on the Forum under "My wife's 2009 Genesis V8 Tech 5 with winged emblems on hood, trunk, and wheels". Take a look. They don't look bad. The winged emblems are better that the round Hyundai ovals any day. It isn't that my wife and I are embarrassed of the Hyundai logo, its just that the winged Genesis looks so much more elegant.

Actually they look very nice on a black car. Might not look quite as nice with some other colors, but now I know where I can mine. Thanks!

PS - nice pictures

I just received the caps for my Titanium Gray v6 Tech. Unfortunately they came in with blisters and cracks in the finish on 3 of the 4. I have send an email to KAI over the weekend - no response yet. Has anyone else had this problem? If yes, was KAI responsive?

I bought mine from SFRstore at the following Ebay location:

Are you sure you are not looking at the plastic protective covering that needs to be peeled off?

Nope - defects are on the surface.
Will post pics.
