  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

One poster on a FB page asked if he should accept a 2010 Dodge Challenger for his 2010 Genesis Coupe. He was instantly met with scorn but I ran the numbers for a logical answer to the question at TorqueNews.com

Re: Would you trade Genesis for a Challenger?

You're kidding, right?

Re: Would you trade Genesis for a Challenger?

In a word, everything about the Challenger: "Coarse"

Re: Would you trade Genesis for a Challenger?

Three things wrong with the Challenger.
1. Live rear axle
2. Its a Dodge
3. Its a Dodge

Re: Would you trade Genesis for a Challenger?

The OP writes a car blog. He'd merely like us to read it.

Re: Would you trade Genesis for a Challenger?

Not live axle. So, I guess all three would be "Its a Dodge."

Yep, you're right.

Re: Would you trade Genesis for a Challenger?

If it was a Hellcat- yes. Otherwise...

IT'S A DODGE

I'd take the right Scat Pack.

Never been a MOPAR guy, but have admired many of their products since a young teen. As a teen, I was envious of a friends 71', lime green Barracuda, lol. It was just a cool looking car. As always, growing up 10 mins. north of Boston, we would sneak into the Saugus Drive-in on weekends. Vanishing Point had me in love with the Challenger. My grandfather (yes, grandfather) drove a Charger, lol. My father bought a handful of Chryslers/Dodge in the early years of my life.

Just sayin'....I won't bash their vehicles. Every U.S. car maker went through some real trials during the 80's, thus, giving way to the Japanese getting such a strong footing here. It was a wake-up call. However, when feeling cheated from a huge purchase (car, second only to a home), you often lose your customer for life! It took "The Big Three" 20yrs to get their rep back, and with somewhat individual results, of course. Ford being the biggest winner after the 2008' market fall.

And for those who stick their nose in the air at the OP's question? LOL, I wouldn't have wished a Kia or Hyundai on my worst enemy, only 15yrs ago, or so! They were a joke. A bad joke! But here we are...Hyundai owners....from a company who realized that they needed to step it up, BIG TIME, in order to compete in the U.S/world market. And hell, THEY still have major work to do!

Only at gunpoint. There is a reason a Mazda MX5 is one of the greatest cars ever built despite it's low HP figures. It's all about the joy of driving, and the Challenger gives you none.
The Genesis Coupe is a 300+ hp MX5.

Id take one for free then immediately sell it. Any other scenario, No deal.
