If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Lighting

Yea that light housing is in there TIGHT...guess you have to be very careful not to mar, crack or otherwise damage the door panel or lens housing....

I did the license plate lights yesterday as well as the lights in the TRUNK and glove box. Pretty happy so far with the results.

True about being careful to not mar the door panel, but even if you do a tiny bit, it's at the bottom of the door where no one will ever see:) I've been running with my LED's for a number of years now, and they all still work great. Only ones I haven't done are the vanity lights, I can't seem to figure out how to remove the lens without damaging the headliner. Haven't put much time into this though.

Well, I'll take a look. I have a 2012 and we don't use 'em much, but I think they also incandescent bulbs...I'll have a go at it...

I just did my entire Genesis (except the glove box). And I have to say that I HATE the covers on the footwell lights.

Does anyone know if that is a white film or if it is white molded plastic? Reason I ask is because I have a number of corrosive chemicals at home that I can use...

The footwell light covers' block a lot of light. I believe they are molded, but I put bright enough LED's to compensate:cool:

Yea, I took the covers out ha. Looking to a way to mod them lol

Found any way to mod those covers? Those things super cheap almost like a dome light cover from my Datsun 510. Ordered my bulbs this weekend from Diode Dynamics cause of their 20% off Black Friday sale (Code: Black Friday). Should have car done this week or next.

194 and festoon are not the same. This info is incorrect.

Vanity mirror - 194 festoon 5w - 31mm did not fit
License plate - 194 festoon - should be 36mm festoon
Glove box - 194 festoon - should be 31mm festoon

Now my LED install.

Could not get my 31mm festoon to fit the vanity mirrors. It was too long. Could not modify it to fit like the 36mm into the 31mm slot in trunk. Anyone installed LEDs in here. Maybe modify a 28mm fuse LED to fit.

I have not found a way yet. Have not put much though into it though. Will focus on that soon

I just left my covers off. Footwells - 194 5-5050 SMD. LED too tall for cover to fit anyways.

Glove Box - 31mm 1-5050 SMD

Courtesy lights - 194 2-5050 SMD. Bright enough for me.

License plate - 36mm 4-5050 SMD. Might change these out for 36mm 2-5050 SMD and put these in the trunk. 31mm 2-5050 SMD are not bright enough.

Fog Lights - H8 Amber - Stage 2 - not bright enough for me but I do like the color.

I like it a lot. I left the covers off as well. Too much going on to really investigate something that small lol.
Any pics/specs of your install?

Those fog lights look sharp.

Thanks. Its funny how the lighting gets distorted by the camera. They look way brighter in that pic than in person. Going to order some more LED's to hopefully figure out the vanity lights problem. Update with HID install in a week or so.

I mean pics of the LED's similar to mine. Wanted to see what brightness you went with.

what bulb are our fogs? i have a 2012 3.8 and is it hard to change them?

EDIT , ill point my self to the sticky lol "H8"s?

Well, my camera isn't light sensitive enough to capture the footwell lights. Sorry man. I tried lol

Yep H8. Not hard to change. Take out a few plastic screws in inner fender liner. Pull back. Unclip harness, remove bulb. Insert bulb then reverse the steps.
