2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I was thinking the same thing.

I also thought the same thing, but figure I can't complain...I'm not the one risking my a$$ to take the pics. Thanks to the OP.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Interesting, the above pics show quad tailpipes for the first time that I can recall. Soon we'll get some pics of this car without the damn burkas!

Amen! Looking forward hearing what they announce at Detroit. Also, hope we hear more about the K7/Cadenza.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I awas also upset when I didn't see dash or front seat pics.... That's like THE most important part!

As for the quad exhaust, I don't see it happening - looks like fit those pipes INSIDE the integrated bumper exhaust opening.

Liking the color inside, but it's impossible to know what's going on in there without seeing the front.

Grrrrrrr

Are they revealing the new Genesis at the Detroit auto show? Link you had was to a concept car.

Simply register and tune in Monday, January 14, 2013, at 2:50 p.m. EST (11:50 a.m. PST).

Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik will give an exclusive backstage tour and a glimpse at Hyundai’s ‘Modern Premium’ lineup, including the reveal of a breathtaking new concept—the HCD-14 Genesis Concept—presented by our North American Design Director, Chris Chapman. No, they are not. They are revealing a Genesis "Concept Car"... with some future technology something-or-other. But the next-gen Genesis is basically done. No one has seen it without a lot of camo on though...

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I am getting bummed-out that the whole industry seems to be moving toward red turn signals in the rear, instead of amber. Up until recently, most foreign manufacturers used amber, and most American cars used red. .

.

Odd, maybe just Mercedes was the odd one out... but meet DOT specs, when importing Mercedes back the 80's and 90's ... e-code / euro code all red tail lamps and/or front turn signal indicators (that were clear or lightly smoked -- Bosch oem) could not stay on the car and were switched out for one's that had amber plastic inserts or amber front turn signal housings for the corners.

Often US benz fans envied the e-code equip and funny enough, demand for the amber laden pieces from stuff brought up to US DOT code was in demand over in .de and else where across the pond.

Sorry to go OT.

Thanks for this thread...if the renderings and one uncladded front spy shot that was taken down from Bobaedream are an indicator of final Gen2 Genesis...ill be def looking for a close out '13 towards the later months of this yr.

Just watched the Genesis concept reveal and Hyundai CEO John Krafcik said that the next generation production model Genesis won't be revealed until this time at next year's auto show (Jan 2014).

I heard that too...the first time, I thought it was a slip/mistake, but on the recent Q&A it was re-iterated by Mr Krafcik via an answer to an owner posed question.

Hmmm, maybe the KDM rls won't happen in late Q3 early Q4.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The pictures WILL leak way before then. 12 months is a looooong time.

Well, they have 12 months to make the actual Genesis look the exact opposite of the new concept they released today. In every way.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

So does that mean it will be a 2015 Model Year release for North American versions?

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Think about the 2012's. They were released right around January 2012, with a "1Q12 in showrooms" schedule. We didn't see them until at least June, and really not until September. So I'm thinking 2014 model.

Tough to wrap my mind around, but you're right about Hyundai and the 2012 Genesis rls time frame.

I guess coming from the Acura world and seeing '13 models pop on to dealer lots sometimes as early as August or usually by October...it makes it tougher to get this rls methodology through my thick skull. Needless to say, with what the camo'd up Genesis test mules are showing thus far, I'll be happy as a kid in a candy shop w/ a '13 white silver pearl r-spec. The gen1 design still gets me looking out on the road and I think it's elegant...not long in the tooth at all imho. Seems like Hyundai wants to make a revolutionary step with the gen2 genesis rather than evolutionary step-- which I believe they should have sided with the latter. I guess we'll see how consumers react with their purchase #'s once it gets out there.

The HCD 14... blah...CLS roof line/side with a front clip that makes me want to cry. The tech inside, pretty neat..and i'd love suicide doors--but I doubt we see a car bring them to market/production.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Remember... Hyundai doesn't really need the Genesis (or Equus) to succeed in North America nor Europe. As long as they sell them in Korea, which, regardless of the final product outcome, will probably happen anyway. Look at any dash cam footage from Korea - 90%+ of the cars are Hyundai, followed by Kia, followed by Japanese brands. They're all about internal consumption over there.

The ONE thing I wanted them to stay away from on the sedan was the gaping mouth grill.... it was the ONE THING I couldn't stand about the coupe! I sure hope that's just the concept.

Sigh.

I got my 2012 end of June 2011.

Ahh... now that you mention it, I believe you are correct.

I retract my statement - I guess it will be a 2015 model after all.
