  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Brake Fluid replace is now an official recall.....

38,600 miles and build date late 2008. No brake issues. Had brake fluid TSB done this past Spring.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Is there anyone else out there like me who has one of these Genesis' built within the dates mentioned that does not have any problems?

I think my build date was April 2009 and I've had no brake problems. I've got 90K+ miles on her. This doesn't mean my ABS module is OK though...

I have a July 2011 build date, and the dealer replaced the brake fluid several months ago. Have had no problems.

About a month ago I had my 2012 3.8 brake fluid changed to DOT4. Should I return to the dealer and have them inspect my ABS Module? The invoice only indicated the fluid was changed, no mention of module inspection. I've had no problems with my brakes...either before or after the fluid change.

That is a good question. But many people who reported intermittent brake failure and went to the dealer, where denied any service other than replacing brake fluid if the dealer could not replicate the failure, so I wonder how they can tell whether there is a problem with the ABS module just by looking at it?

I don't think it's possible to find out if the module has corrosion issues without taking it out of the car and disassembling it...which I wouldn't think the dealer would even do.

Maybe a failed module that the dealer has replaced from a Genesis would be sent out to HMA for inspections??

I guess since i do all my own work to my cars & bikes i didnt even know about this & since im not on this forum like i used to be or need to be i didnt know but.......my baby has an 8am appointment tomorrow

so i turned my car in today at 8am get back home & in my bed to have my cell go off around 10:30am from the dealer in NEW ROCHELLE NY on Main ST ( BEWARE ) , trying to tell me my BILL $ 110 is for bleeding my brake lines. OK so they dont know i do all my own work and know about cars , if you have to change my brake fluid to DOT 4 as per the recall then they have to be bled anyway when your done so HOW IS IT IM BEING CHARGED ! Oh she said let me check with the Mech ( why check with him , he just fixes the car , check with your shop mngr ) so i get a call back a few minutes ago telling me my car is ready but the head mech would like to go on a test drive with me ( oh boy here we go with the BS ) so im on my way in but i did ask her before i hung up is the car DONE she said yes & i asked her about the charge & she said there is no charge ( yeah i know but now they are fishing for other things ) to be continued when i get to the dealer....

man o man o man i was looking to blow my top when i picked up my car from the dealer but i guess they realized by the time i got there that im not one of those ( not knowing what the fcuk is going on type of people ) had my car ready with finger prints on it ( i washed my car b4 i took it in so yes im not happy about that ) but no charge and recall done !
