If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. We arrived at the show right when it opened today at 10:00am. No crowds at all. Went right to the Hyundai exhibit and found the Genesis spinning around on a cordoned off area so you could not sit in the car. Bummer.

I must say though, even though we could not sit in it, we fell in love with it. The lines on that car are awesome. The interior (from afar) looks very plush and well made. I would have loved to try out that drivers seat.

I asked them when the car would hit the South Florida car lots and they said in May. They had no comment regarding a performance version or a HTRAC 5.0 version. The one on the lazy suzan was a 5.0

We checked out the 2014 Genesis and the Equus and are very impressive still with both vehicles. We also checked out the K900 KIA. That is an impressive car as well. Lots of bells and whistles in it like the Equus.

Here are some pics of the 2015 Genesis from the show. Enjoy.

Obviously just my opinion but other than the front seats I still think the previous MY is better looking. That front grill is big mouth basstastic. And the rear deck is too Sonata looking.

I can live with the rear, and I actually like the quad pipes, but I have to agree on the front grill. I loved my old A6, but have never acquired a taste for the gaping "mouth" on newer Audi's or any copies from Lexus, Ford, etc. Is there a bumper in there or not??

Thanks for taking the time to take and post the pictures.

Unlike the Genesis, were you able to see the interior of the k900? If so, I will try and take a ride up from South Beach tomorrow. Thanks for the report and pics.

For those concerned with the styling of the 2015 Genesis, I implore you to see it in person. Pictures just doesn't do it justice. The grille surprisingly fits and you'll never mistake it for a Sonata. Great pics, btw.

FYI, the drivers seat (the only one I sat in) is very comfy but not necessarily any better than my 2012. It does have an extension that slides forward from the front for drivers with long legs (I am not one of those).

I saw 2015 Genesis in person at Detroit auto show and still don't like that grille. I like 09-11 grille, and I think it is better than 12-14 grille, IMHO.

Sandy, you can sit in the K900... Far warning though, bring your check book as you will want to buy it. The interior is amazing. So is the price tag. Right up there with the Equus.

ksoze your vey welcome. Glad I could offer up some info on the new Genesis...

larry'sown, I agree with you, you have to see this car in person. The grille is much better in person. It really does have to be seen in person to see how it ties in with the rest of the car.

landtuna Thanks for the feedback regarding the seat. I am 6'1" so that extra extension would be a huge plus for me. I sat in just about every car in the show and the only ones (besides the $65k+ cars) I could stretch my legs out in was the Genesis (2014), Equus and the K900. The other cars do not have the leg room these cars have.

MozartMan I do agree with you. I like the older MY grilles better than the 2014 MY grille.

I had an e-mail from a reviewer for the auto section of the National Post. She quoted and forwarded to me a press release from Kia stating the the K900 will start at $49,999 in Canada. That puts it only $4k more than reported starting price of 2015 Genesis and $13k less than the starting price of an Equus in Canada. Keep in mind that the K900 will have the 3.8 V6 and V8 whereas the Equus only has the V8. If anyone wants to read the press release, I can post it.

katman0 Please post a link to that article. I would like to read it. The K900 we sat in which was the top of line model was around $66,000 (fully loaded) The starting price was $59,500 for the base model. I am pretty sure it only comes in a V8 but I could be wrong. We looked at so make cars.

A V6 for the K900 is coming later this year, so Kia says.

Thanks for the pics. Was there also a 3.8 on display?

I disagree that the 2015 seat isn't better than the 2009-14 seat. It's not just the thigh extender that makes it better, but also the fact that it has way more bolstering to actually keep you in the seat. You said yourself that it was comfortable. Hyundai has kept all the comfort of the current seat amd improved the design. How can that not be considered better?

You should be careful about the starting price of the V6 K900. I'm fairly certain the V8 has standard equipment that the V6 doesn't. When both are optioned, I bet the difference between the V6 Genesis and K900 will be larger than $4K.

tompass They only had the one car there. 5.0 version. No HTRAC. We spent a lot of time looking at it as well as the other cars there. Every time we came back to the Genesis, there were more and more people there checking it out.

It was pretty much the same in Chicago. They had both the 3.8 and 5.0 there, but there was still lines for both cars. Every one I talked to was genuinely impressed with the Genesis. I don't think I mentioned this before, but the 2014 Genesis wasn't even on display at the show. I guess Hyundai wanted all the attention for the 2015 model.

I wish I would have known the 2015 was in Ft Lauderdale, just to see it in person and not online. And the convention center is not far from me.
