  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post your 2015 Genesis Questions Here

Supposedly, Hyundai is prepping a TT 3.3L V6 for the Genesis.

I'd much rather see a beefed up 5.0 with AWD as an option. The car needs to shed some weight though to be a contender in the sports sedan category and I don't think this is where Hyundai is focusing it's attention.

Well, supposedly Hyundai has been tinkering around w/ a TT Tau as well (already had done working prototypes of a supercharged Tau some years ago), but would only see the day of light if Hyundai decides to go ahead w/ a real performance line.

How many '15s have you sold at your dealership so far, gameday22.

My question is did they get the AC get upgraded? In other words can if freeze you out instead of blowing constantly barely keeping up like the first Generation?

Sorry I'm not sure how many they have sold, I don't work for them and am just a customer that was lucky enough to spend some quality time with the vehicles. I can ask them but they might not give me that information.

It's freaking cold, within a few minutes of the car being on in 90+ degree weather the temperature inside of the cabin was comfortable....by the time we arrived at Disney I couldn't feel one side of my face so good lol.

I do have one question for gameday22 (the resident real-world 2015 Genesis expert for now). in reading the numerous reviews of the car, when pushed hard, the Genesis exhibited understeer. I don't know how many people care about that, but I actually do even if I will almost never notice that about the car in my daily commute. I don't know how hard you pushed that car around, but did you notice that? if you did, was it even a big deal? most of the reviewers said it wasn't. that's all for now; I'm sure i'll come up with something much more important later...

In response to akuma's question......lol @ the expert part......thanks though :)

It does have some under-steer but it's negligible IMO and easily compensated for, we got on them pretty hard but the car never felt unstable. The traction and stability control are spot on in comparison to the first generation. I was able to hammer down off the light without the TC dumping power which was refreshing, I'm sure part of that is to do with the tires. I'm really impressed with how well both the V8 and V6 AWD handle, you really need to drive it to appreciate how much of an improvement this car is overall.

1: This area has been fully redesigned, behind that door is now 2x chargers the USB and Aux jack. When the door is closed it is flush with no room for the plugs to come out...oversight on their part?? There is also no ashtray or cigarette lighter that is readily noticable.

So no way to permanently keep a full-sized ipod plugged in ... that's too bad. Will have to see if there's room for the old-style ipod cable and an old style nano.

Has anyone tried a low-profile USB memory stick to see if the car can read music directly from it -- did they improve the software?

2: I have a Galaxy S4 and it connected in about 30-40 seconds after downloading all my contacts. The Bluetooth audio using Spotify worked great and displayed both the names of the songs and album art when available.

That's good to hear. Do Samsung phones drop calls or disconnect/reconnect randomly like in the 2009-2014s?

5: They are Ventus S1 noble2's

These are the top rated tires on Tirerack (above Michelin pilot A/S). Holy Crap Hyundai actually got some good tires this time!!! :D

Update....
There is no power adapter in the armrest.
Golf Clubs do fit in ok but only by putting the bag in straight then turning the club heads in....at least with my bag.
I didn't remember to check the hood will do it tomorrow.

My current bag is a heavy cart bag and a bit long, so I might need to upgrade to a lighter/smaller carry bag.

Thanks, Gameday for the detailed responses!!!

You can leave a full sized iPod plugged in there but I'd try to find the shortest cable possible for it, I had my S4 sitting in that space and the door will close...the problem is if you have 2 devices plugged in there is a definite lack of space. During my time with the car the S4 didn't drop connection and overall the electronics in the car are much improved from an initial quality standpoint. I'm also happy to see that they used these tires as they are getting great reviews, though limited mileage has been reported for them in comparison to the Continental DWS's.

Did they bring the soft close doors over? It was there at the Detroit Auto Show but heard nothing else on their website about it.

No soft close doors, that would have been a nice touch. They do have soft close/open windows though, right before reaching the top or bottom they slow down to not create as much noise.

A small but huge miss that did not. Finally saw one today and noted the doors have a substantial feel and do shut with a very robust thunk, but could really have benefitted from the soft close option.

Similar to the Lexus? I thought that was a neat feature with the windows.

That's a big bummer with the soft close doors. I was amazed that it had it at the car show, but guess that didn't come to the USA neither. I know the Genny had it previously in Korea too.

I'm not sure how they compare to Lexus's version, these slow down (visually noticable) just before reaching top or bottom.

Where is the Genesis built?

Does anybody have a picture of the center console without the DIS feature? Is it correct to say only the 9.2" screen comes with this?

Where is the Genesis built?
In South Korea, at the main Hyundai assembly plant (I believe it is the largest single auto assembly plant in the world).

Run flats? or does the new Genesis have a spare tire?
