  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post your 2015 Genesis Questions Here

I cannot remember if it showed the nav in the instrument cluster but quite sure it did not. I did find it rather silly to see the posted speed limit in the main display, the cluster and the heads up. No way can one not say they did not know the speed limit.

2. Does the 2015 Genny suffer from the same bluetooth connectivity issues with Samsung phones as the 09-14's?

Answer: No!

I test drove a 3.8 with signature and tech package and noticed the camera quality wasn't the same as my current genesis. Is the ultimate package with hd screen better in the backup camera quality?

Are there different headliners for different Genesis models or option packages? I seem to remember someone saying they had a suede like headliner.

The Ultimate V8 AWD in Canada has a suede headliner the others do not, not sure if this is also standard on ultimate packages in the states. I have seen no mention of it on any of the US literature or reviews.

The answer is yes and no... during the day the image is better then in the 2013, but at night it's muddied and hard to make out good detail unless in a very well lit parking lot. I commented on this in another thread, they really need to improve the quality of the camera to be on par with the HD screen....though it might not be the camera's fault and could be that the LED license plate lights and backup lights are so bright that they are partially washing out the camera. I'll block off the plate lights tonight to see if that improves the quality some and reply back.

UPDATE: I completely taped over the license lights, put the car in reverse and it's still a poor picture. The camera doesn't seem to be of the best quality, that HD screen with a decent camera should produce a crystal clear image both day and night.

Daytime, definitely should be a lot better of an image than this:

Here it looks somewhat better but still not that great IMO:

I have 2 questions for any present owner.
1. Can the Drive Mode be changed while driving? I’m assuming yes since the manual makes no safety references to the contrary.
2. Whatever happened to the “Air Quality” function of the ventilation system is it still there I can’t find it in the manual.

1) Yep, played with it while driving.

2) What do you mean by air quality function? Do not think I ever had this.

I have never heard of this option before. What does it actually do? Send air through a cabin filter instead of not sending it through a cabin filter? Makes no sense though as all air should pass through it if one is present.

I believe this is simply auto mode which just switches to inside air when detecting contaminants (like buses, dust, etc.) from the outside.

Yup, AQS monitors the incoming air for certain chemicals/pollutants from other vehicle exhausts and automatically switches to recirculate rather than pumping that crud into your car. Mine (2009) doesn't detect dust or cow-plop stink unfortunately. I have to remember to manually select recirculate when driving past the sewer treatment plant a few miles away or when leaving SoCal and passing through cow-heavy Norco.

So basically it is supposed to sense if the air is bad and switch automatically from fresh to recirculate. I would really like to see the sensor as a part number on the car which actually detects pollutants, really? I really think this is a bunch of male cow poo.

This has been around for years on many cars. Some detect an increased level of pollutants in the environment from spark-ignition and diesel engines and switch to inside air for a set time.

Twin Air Filters on 5.0 size?

Traded my 2011 4.6 for a 2015 5.0 Ultimate on Saturday. Empire State Gray with Black interior. I love it. The 5.0 now has twin air intakes each with their own air filter. Does anyone know what size shape they are? Are they the same as 2014 air filter just two of them now?

Thanks

#18 Clock is silent and sync automatically to the digital clock
#19 NO!! And this was a big pet peeve of mine on my 4.6. No rattles from the bass at all.

Thank You. Sounds like a great feature to have.

Can you turn the lane departure feature off? I sat in one last week and saw some options that I didn't fully understand, but was not clear if it can be turned off completely.

Thanks

Yes you can turn off the LKA/LDWS.

I concur. You can turn Lane Departure/Lane Keep off but I'm not sure why you would want to...

I did notice that on some of the older streets with faded lines it doesn't work anyway.
