Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

I purchased a 3.8 RWD Ultimate today for $45,396.35 minus $1000 loyalty discount, total of $44,396.35. The car included a cargo tray, wheel locks, cargo net, first aid kit and bumper protection film. MSRP including the accessories was $50,205.00

Where are you located ? I am in the Cleveland, Ohio area and been trying to purchase a 3.8 RWD Ultimate in Casablanca White with Beige interior for two months with no success. We seem to have a lot of Black AWD vehicles in this area.

When I was searching I noticed Black was the most common, followed by white (with black interior) then light gray (Parisian Gray) of course this was in my area within 150 miles of me.

Received Damaged 2015 Genesis

Hello Guys! Need a quick suggestion here:

I purchased a New 2015 Genesis from out of the State dealer located 1000 miles away from my place, around 2 weeks ago. When I received it, I saw that the roof was severely damaged, which I believe happened while in transit due to the truck driver's carelessness. After a lot of phone calls with the Transport company and the Dealer, vehicle was taken to the local body repair shop. Transport company agreed to pay for the repair. Next day the guy at the repair shop inspected the car carefully and found out that the rear quarter panel (Near tail-light) on the driver's side was damaged and then painted. It was done so badly that one could easily spot out the difference between the factory paint and theirs. After going through all the hassles I finally decided not to keep that car and sending it back to the dealer now.

Do you think my decision was right? Please post your suggestions.

Thanks,

Sorry to hear - you did the right thing sending it back.

Yes, send it back ... good decision .... they deceived you. I'd use a local dealer even if it cost a little more ... not a lot more. Even then you need to make sure the local dealer has a good reputation.

Spending this kind of money for a car you should have ZERO damage when you drive it off the lot. Not one with body work performed to it. You did the right thing for sure and I would presume your dealer that handled this for you would agree with no questions asked.

Hell yeah send it back. I never would have accepted it. I buy new I want mint condition.

Several auto brands have a policy that a vehicle damaged in shipping, other than very minor paint touch-ups, can not be sold at all - not as new or used. I remember years ago looking at a new Cressida wagon with a damaged rim off on the side of a dealer's lot - the rim had been gouged pretty badly while backing off the transporter truck - and that vehicle was going to be donated to a local tech school; Toyota would not allow it to be sold. All it needed was a new rim - not even body/paint damage; the rim and tire still held air so the vehicle was drivable. I've read similar stories concerning other brands. I wonder what Hyundai's policy is? And if they do have a "do not sell repaired vehicles" policy, what would they do to the dealers involved in Sam22's story if they found out?

My local Hyundai dealer had a 2015 genesis I was looking at with a minor bumper scratch and dent that occurred as the car was unloaded from the car transporter truck. At first, the salesman said they would repair the car, but he later told me Hyundai required the car be returned to them and would allow it to be repaired and sold.

Thanks, Mike for your response. I totally agree with you. I just checked the Dealer's site and the car has been listed again for sale at the MSRP. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me what they do with that car. I just need my money back which I'm still waiting for.

I have been going thru all this for around 2 months and now totally frustrated with it.

Re: Received Damaged 2015 Genesis

Dealer and transport company both were playing tricks with me and even tried to offer me $2000 as a compensation which I didn't accept. Now I'll buy it from a local dealer only no matter if it costs me more.

I suspect this is governed but a few things, including local laws and company polices. I know I went to lease 09 Genesis and when I went to pick it up dealer had scratched the bumper. First I applauded them for being up front, they did not have to tell me. They asked for option to repair which I allowed, but in the end I could tell and they had no problem refunding my first payment and terminating the lease. I plan on test driving a loaded 15 V6 and if all goes well may eventually have to order an AWD. One thing I think Hyundai is missing is touting the full time nature of their AWD in that it should have benefits rain, snow or shine.

Is Hyundai circle pricing now available on he 2015?

Yes, for several weeks now.

I bought my 3.8L RWD Ultimate in Casablanca white with beige interior yesterday from a dealer in Virginia. MSRP was $50,035; discounted price was $47,445.56 plus a processing fee of $489 and temporary tag fee of $65.44 for a total of $48,000. A loyalty discount of $1,000 and internet cash bonus of $200 were then taken off bringing the price down to $46,800. They gave me $12,000 for my 2009 Genesis. My out the door cost was $34,8000. I still must title the car in my home state of Ohio.

Hi rrobbins,

Congrats on your purchase! which dealership did you buy it from? And, what is Hyundai Circle price?

From Brown's Manassas Hyundai. I don't know what the Hyundai Circle price is since I was not eligible for it.

I've had a Monticeto Blue 3.8 AWD Ultimate for over 2 weeks now. Its the best car I have ever owned. I paid 49900 for it.
