  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

When you want a more encompassing net you can take the front loops and attach them to the rear hooks with the rear loops. The net will still lay on the floor, but it will be folded over to wrap the items. Seems to work pretty well depending on the load. YMMV of course. :)
Not a bad idea. I'll have to play with that idea.

I just read this on a Canadian review of the car. Does anyone know if this is on the US versions? Not that I need this is Florida, but would like to know if this is on the US cars.

"There are lots of little touches too like an electric grid where the wipers rest to keep them from icing up."

Another good find. When the 2015 nav system sees there is heavy traffic up ahead on your planned route it will prompt you for a reroute option. Very cool !!

...which is very useful in the Pacific Northwest.

I'll check tomorrow to see if I see a grid on mine. It would be interesting if it is there. A salesman said something to me about the wipers not icing up on the AWD in winter.

Good idea. You never know when someone from South Beach is going to empty their ice chest on your windshield.

I see no evidence of this on my 3.8 AWD Ultimate - but the lower part of the windshield where the wipers rest is black, so you can't really tell definitively...

Has anyone seen that the front sun visors slide out from the post when unclipped? Found that today when I was trying to keep the sun coming through my side window out of my eyes.

Just read Owner's Manual (3-155) to see if I could be sure of what you're saying without posting [can't get to car at moment] but it has the MOST confusing diagram and does NOT look like my interpretation of what you're saying. Do you mean once you pull the visor out of the clip you can just swing it to the side (like all of them do???)? Or do you mean there's a plastic slide-ey part that's a secondary part of the visor that you can slide to make it cover more room? OR do you mean you can have the one visor SIMULTANEOUSLY in front AND to the side somehow? Oh please let that be so!

A simultaneous front and side visor configuration has been discussed as something a number of us would REALLY like (mainly us ex-Ford Taurus owners I think) as we had cars that had a second plastic visor hidden under the main so that when driving at that critical sun-downing time and weaving, we could have one in front and t'other to the side. The Mercedes E-350 has that two visor configuration and I admit in my list of reasons to NOT buy a Genesis and buy the Merc I did think about that ...

So, it's been raining here lately and I thought I would have a little fun. I took Traction control off and proceeded to try some drifting in an empty parking lot. What I learned is if you decide to do this I suggest you remove your set belt. I performed one drift before the set belt decided to choke the ever living s**t out of me.

Also, I went on a road trip last week. While driving I thought I would get comfortable and I lifted my feet out of the pedal compartment while on cruise. I learned that Genny doesn't like this. After about 45 seconds the car lost all power and I had to pull over and restart the car. I wasn't sure at that time what happened until I thought hum... I wonder. So I got back on the interstate and lifted my feet, then voila it cut off again. So I thought these two safety measures were pretty cool not sure if anyone has knowledge of them and I wanted to share.

I assume you held the button down for 3+ seconds to remove both traction and ESC? Nice that they let you do this unlike the fuse pull deal on the Gen 1. ;) To bad the car tries to kill you when it thinks you can't drive.

I drive on the interstate quite a bit and have never found this to be the case, however, I have never lifted my legs out of that area. I will try this week. That said, what exactly would be the sensor? Weight? I know for a fact that I move my feet away from the pedals and it works fine.

I meant, once you release from the clip and extend it to your side window you can slide it to have it cover farther back along the side window.

Ooohh... Now I get it. I'll have to check that out. I don't know if that's a common feature among high end cars, but I'm pretty sure I haven't had one that does that before (but then, I've never looked for that feature before either). Pretty neat.

Pretty common. My 3/4 ton Silverado has the same feature.

That's a good question. However I duplicated so there is something.[emoji33]

Alright, I tried to lift my feet out and the best I could do is cross one leg. Do you mean you have them totally out? Anyway, my feet were clear of the pedals and the active cruise worked fine. Never shut off. I'd want others to weigh in.

Somehow testing a theory posed here by removing both feet from the pedal compartment area while blasting down the road seems a tad unsafe at best.

No more unsafe than allowing the car to come to a complete stop all by itself :D
