  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

Know what you mean... I took this thing out to West Texas a few months ago. The 5.0 just loafs along @ 90-100 all day long!
The 5.0 Ultimate is designed perfectly for highway cruising.

It does fine as a stoplight to stoplight drag car with an aftermarket pedal booster, but it seem designed from the factory to run well at highway speeds as opposed to drag racing. It is a more a highway cruiser than a stoplight bruiser.:)

I've got to say, my "likes" for my 2016 Ultimate in Montecito Blue are, pretty much everything mentioned in the many, many pages of this thread. PLUS, the very existence of this thread to begin with! I've read every post, and frequently run out to my car and go, "WOW!" mine does that too! :) Because of this thread, I've got music on my jukebox, know how to rewind my SXM, can hang grocery bags and my umbrella in the trunk, and don't worry about my high beams anymore at night. Among many other things. Coming from a 2012 Genny, I think these two cars are my favorites in 45 years of owning cars, with my 2016 topping them all. I've owned 3 Cadillacs, 2 Chryslers, an Imperial, a BMW 740 iL, and now 4 Korean luxury cars in a row. Amazed every time I get into this one.
Nice post, beautiful car! This thread is a little old but I will give it a try. You mention going from a 12 to a 16 Genesis. I have a 2012 3.8 with tech package with all Genesis badging which aside from the R-Spec is the most loaded car for that year. I am looking at a low mileage (<30K) 2016 ultimate AWD. I too have had many cars and my current one is the nicest car I have owned. What's holding me back is I do read about a lot of nuisance problems on the 15 models. Not so sure about the 16. My car has been a solid performer with 83k miles, not a rattle or squeak anywhere. I am very impressed by how tight this car has remained after almost 10 years on the road, albeit relatively low mileage. My only issues were one failed parking sensor on front bumper, moon roof cracked guide rail, and I did have the transmission replaced under warranty at 79K due too hard shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. That did not bother me so much because many 8 speed gear boxes can have this issue. The main thing is that Hyundai didn't give any issues and replaced it hassle free as well as the moon roof repair. I bought the car as a used CPO and purchased the platinum wrap for about 2K. So far I am ahead by quite a bit since the tranny is easily 4k and the roof about 1500. But my insurance is just up this month with exception of the power train warranty which sunsets in August 2022. In your opinion (a year and half later since this post), how would you say your 16 compares to your 12 regarding reliability and fit and finish? thanks!
