Hello everyone,
I got myself a 2013 Genesis V6 with tech and premium package June 2014. Feels like forever ago but I've enjoyed every moment driving this car (my last car was a 2007 Honda Civic!). I got the car with 3,000 miles on it and it just hit 14,000. I did have a couple of questions if anyone can share some insight.
1.) My wife was driving my car some time last week and possibly behind a large truck that kicked up a small rock and chipped (not cracked) the windshield very lightly. There's no fear of the windshield cracking because it is very very small. However, I do see it while driving since its right in my line of vision. The dealer told me insurance can take care of it BUT they are required to get a "special Hyundai Genesis windshield" and any ordinary windshield won't work due to rain-sensing wipers, sensors, etc. My question is, aren't the sensors on the inside of the car? Also, any way there's a DIY method to get rid of the chip or something I can buy from an Autozone to fix it? I'd show you all a pic but the chip is so tiny that my phone's camera can't focus on it.
2.) With only 14,000 miles on it, I noticed the left side of driver's seat leather showing white wrinkles. Once again, dealer said this is normal wear and tear...sure but at only 14,000?! I am 5'11 195 lb and I try my best not to slide on that part but anything I can do to preserve the seats better? Attached is a picture.
3.) Some days when I'm driving without music and cruising on a moderately bumpy highway (I-35 here in Dallas), the inside cabin makes this very annoying rattling noise. I can't figure out where its coming from and it drives me insane because the car's ride is so smooth and I want silence sometimes when driving.
As someone who just joined this forum after lurking a lot, these are my first few posts. I'd truly appreciate anyone's help who can provide any sort of help! I am sure some of you have been Genesis owners way longer than I have.
Thank you!
