If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Does anyone know if the driver's side door panel needs to be removed to replace the master power window switch? I can't seem to find anything about how to replace this part.

My driver's side window power switch is acting up where all window buttons are stuck sometimes and are working intermittently. It seems like the lockout button is acting like it is engaged and I have to press/depress the lockout button several times to make the windows go up and down.

I can find the replacement power window switch on Ebay/Amazon but just can't seem to locate anything on the internet on how to replace this part. I might open it up first maybe to clean up the contact before buying just to make sure it's not going bad on me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Yea you have to remove the panel. If you look at the new ones I believe there are little hooks and screws. Removing the panel shouldn't be too challenging though

Thanks for the info. Anyone with some experience on doing this please PM me or share. TIA.

Replacing this isn't as bad as I thought. Here is what I was told by someone who had successfully replaced one:

Replacing the control unit is super easy. Just use a butter knife to get under the lip on the side and back and gently pry it up. Once you see it coming up, a firm tug should get it to come on out rear-most first. Lift up and out and remove power clip. Swap unit and attach power clip. Install unit back into housing front edge first and press down firmly. You will feel it click into place.

I haven't done mine yet but will do it soon.

Just passing this along to anyone who might need this instruction.

Finally gave it a try today. It wasn't that difficult at all. The key on this is once you get under the side lip (toward the rear) is to get access to the back opening and gently push in on the metal tab. You can't really see it but you can feel it as the tab's purpose is to hold the unit tight in place. Once you push the metal tab in a bit using the butter knife the rear comes right up. Lift the unit, remove the power clips. Swap it out and attach power clip. Install new housing front edge first and press down it will all snap back in place.

Everthing seems to be working fine now for me. No more issues with the windows.

Hope this helps out.
