I thought the V8 Base Trim is equal to Technology Package on V6, so that is a little misleading. It's not like your V8 car is striped.Very interestin thread....
I got a 2015 V8 Base yesterday; and bought the 10 yr, 100K, Zero deductible. My rationale was that if i keep the car 5ish years, it is worth it (the price for 5 ys vs 10 yr was small), and if i were to sell it then the warranty has value and makes the car more desirable for resale.
HOWEVER, as someone pointed out, the exclusions seems to skirt some of the key reasons of buying this....like the Radar components, etc.
Typically we list those items NOT Covered rather than the huge list
of covered items when defining Platinum component coverage. See below.
Has anyone used the HPP warranty on any cars...not necessarily Genesis? Experiences?
Many thanks
Not Covered:
• Mechanical, Exterior, Interior
Brake linings, brake drums and rotors, disc brake pads, standard transmission clutch components, air bags, solar powered devices, hinges, glass, lenses, sealed beams, body parts and/or panels, trim, moldings, door handles, lock cylinders, tires, wheels, batteries, light bulbs, upholstery, paint, bright metal, freeze plugs, heater and radiator hoses, exhaust system, shock absorbers, audio, security or other systems not factory installed, work such as front-end alignment or wheel balancing, constant velocity joint boots, safety restraint systems, cellular phones, electronic transmitting devices (except for those specifically listed under silver, gold, or gold plus coverage), radar detectors, appliances, near object avoidance systems and all laser radar cruise control components, vinyl and convertible tops."
The part about whether the radar, etc is covered by the 10 year HPP warranty is not clear IMO. I suspect it is covered, just that the above was written by an idiot attorney whose writing skills are very poor. I think they are trying to exclude all after-market stuff ("not factory installed"), but botched the sentence. But that is just my guess.
