ECU just showed up, is it hard to get to? I might try to do this over the weekend.
Nice. Where did you source the ECU?
Tendown or were you able to find it somewhere else?
As far as the installation, it is pretty simple.
The service manual suggests that in order to remove the AFLS ECU, the dash has to be removed to take out two 10mm bolts(highlighted red below) from the top, but there was no way I was gonna remove the dash just to remove that small ECU.
So I found a easier way. You can access the two Philips screws once you remove the glove box like the picture below.
You can easily remove the philips screw on the right side, but the problem is the left one.
You don't have a straight shot for the left one so you need a right angled screw driver.
I spent most of my time trying to remove the left screw due to my small collection of tools, but I'm sure with the right tool it will be a breeze.
Once those two screws are removed, you can disconnect the connector and install the new ECU.
But remember, in order for everything to work properly, you have to go to the dealer and have them download the parameters for the LED AFLS ECU.
If you skip this step, you will find that different functions I described in the previous post will not operate.
Good luck with the installation and let me know if you run into any issues.
