I have been shopping for a 2016 Genesis sedan, and I spent the weekend test driving the 3.8 RWD, a 3.8 AWD, and a 2015 5.0. Driving them back-to-back, I really got a feel for the differences in handling/power, and I finally decided that the 5.0 V8 was the right fit for me.
I then asked when they would be getting the 2016 5.0 Ultimates. Of course, there are none in the US right now, and upon following up with HMA, the dealer was told that there will be no 5.0's in 2016. In fact, the dealer was told that Hyundai will be "focusing on eliminating as much Equus/Genesis inventory as possible" to prepare for the G90/G80 launch, and this meant no 5.0's in 2016.
Pretty incredible way to run a company, given that the press release annonucing the 2016 5.0 was just released less than three months ago. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed - especially after researching and finally deciding on what I would like to own as my next car.
Now, I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else in the market for a '16 5.0 being told something similar?
