In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Genesis Coupe Buying/Leasing Tips (Read before you sit with your dealer!)

honda accords 2000 below invoice, get real.

"A week ago, I purchased a brand new 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 for $2,721 under invoice. The dealer also gave me the wheel locks, all season floor mats and mud flaps at invoice. That is $26,014-$2,721+$670=$23,963 plus the accessories at cost. The $670 is the destination cost.

The deals are there - just push!! They need to clear their lots!! "

Shut the hell up Priority, you don't even base your statements on fact. If you don't have anything productive to say then just stay out of the thread.

NOT MY FAULT YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ, NOTE: PPL LIE ABOUT HOW LITTLE THEY PAYED FOR THEIR CARS (LOWER) AND HOW MUCH THEY PAYED FOR THEIR HOUSE (HIGHER). rule for thumb since you dont know, dont believe any of these prices unless you get a copy of their buyers order. first off an ex-l v6 is almost 30 grand clown., lmao.

So is the 3.8 Genny...

*sigh*

So is the 3.8 Genny...

*sigh*

yea, a gt 3.8 or track, if you read what he said he payed it doesnt even add up. if they were selling exl v6's for 2k below they'd be sold out. you dont know if it was a demo, if it was the right car or nothing you just go off of what people say without seeing any proof, trust me, noones buying a accord 09 for no 23k and sum change on an EX-L V6, thats laughable to even think he did. maybe you should *sigh* at ppl lying, look i dont care if ppl get a deal, what i hate is when ppl get on here or anywhere and lie without showing proof. we give excellent deals here alot of times but some things ppl say they bought their cars for are ridicoulous, honda will never be hurting that much to sell accords nonetheless for 2k below invoice straight up. bs in the mirror is closer than it appears.

I don't know how we got onto Hondas. But, I think one of the main things to consider if you are going to deal on a Honda right now is this. Honda is awash in a sea of cars. Their sales volume is off ~37% for March vs last year. It's kind of like Dire Straights said, "We got to move these, refrigerators. We got to moves these, color teee veeees." I would get the sales numbers for Honda together and take them, along with photos of the overflowing storage yards they have rented all over the U.S., down to the dealer with me and explain to them in no uncertain terms that they will deal with me, or else I am walking out of here. There are tons of dealerships. Dealerships and salesman can posture all they want. But at the end of the day (or in their case end of the month) they have to deal. Nobody is buying right now. I don't care what salesmen say. People may lie about how much they paid for their cars. But salesmen will also fib a little when talking about how sales are going. It's called negotiating. Neither side wants to give up his true position. That's why customers need to be as informed as they can be.

Guerro,

FYI Hyundai and 2 other companies are actually up in sales.

However you are very right about the other car companies such as Honda. They are all hurting really bad right now and I'd believe them going for $2,000 under invoice.

Even with Hyundai sales up some dealers are still very workable, my 2.0T Track was about $550 below invoice.

Just keep in mind there are still plenty dealers out there who will try to rip you off. I've noticed some selling the Genny Coupe for OVER MSRP...

Like you said, anyone buying should just keep in mind it is a buyer's market and no matter what a dealer says or denies you can just walk away. Why give your business to someone like that anyway?

Carsdirect.com... '09 Accord EX-L V6 sedan... $25,983 plus sales tax, OTD.

Actually, for March, Hyundai was down ~4.8% versus March of last year. (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/by+the+numbers/) Kia and Subaru must be who you were thinking about but they declined as well. However, their daily sales rate increased. 4.8% decline is actually really good when you look at what the rest of the industry is doing. Most are in double digit percentage delines. But I was just addressing Hondas since that seemed to be where the conversation had moved. But, even though a car maker's numbers are down overall, it can still have a hot seller. As does Hyundai with the Genesis coupe. Again, the consumer should arm himself with absolutely every last bit of information he can get his hands on before trying to negotiate a deal. And in some instances, hold off on buying until all the hoopla and excitement is over and all the "idiots" are done paying over sticker for their cars.

Yes Kia and Subaru were the other two I was referring to.

Honda came up simply as an example of where the market is which Priority hopped on and began stabbing.

You are exactly right, there are dealers out there who understand the current market and are willing to price as such. If you don't have one of these dealers than you're 100% correct, just wait. Prices arn't going to go up.

The dealership that tried to rip me off now has 3 Genesis Coupes, they have not sold a single one. Just goes to show you most buyers are being smart. The more dealers that realize this the faster these cars will be on the road.

In addition, I don't think the coupe has really been advertised as heavily as Hyundai's other vehicles. At lease not in the Phoenix Metro area. I don't recall seeing one television commercial for the car. Hopefully that will change. I think Hyundai has a great car here. But people, even in this economy, just make stupid decisions sometimes. (referring to those paying over sticker price just to have it now)

I'm not having much luck @ my dealer.... He wants $27500 before ttl on the 2.0T Track. He says its the only one he can locate in Texas, so he's firm about the price :\

Just be a bit patient, if you can. Check around and see if what he's telling you is correct, a few calls or website checks is all it takes.

Since the coupe is still in its initial shipping phase, some styles might be harder to find but, if you have the time, a few months will take care of that nicely and the prices will drop as availability (and the # that sit on the lot unsold) increases.

Search www.Vehix.com to find out if he's telling the truth, it will show you dealer's inventory. My NJ dealer told me the only 2.0T Tracks were black and red. I found 2 blacks, a red, a grey, and a silver on vehix.

Well, according to Vehix.com there are only two coupes in all of Arizona. A yellow track with auto and a yellow track with manual. Can that be right ?? Only two in all of Arizona ?

Vehix shows 1 coupe in Texas, which oddly isn't the one he was telling me about. He found a Black one in Austin, Vehix shows a Grey one in Mesquite. He's gonna give me a call back Monday and see what he can do.

Unless I am mistaken Vehix shows what cars are on the ground, your dealer may be seeing an inbound. Like I said Vehix found ones my dealer had no idea existed so they must be running off different search systems.

Yeah, definitely something weird with Vehix. I refuse to believe there are only two Gen coupes in stock in all of Arizona.

if someone pays over sticker..let them, why should they be an idiot. in the sales business it is every right for the selling authority to ask for whatever they want to on their merchandise regards of whether its a car, house, furniture, whathaveyou. i wouldnt call it ripping off, i would call it trying to make money..it is your prerogative whether or not you pay for it or not. because if yall bought a car and pay 25k for it and someone offered to buy yours for 33k, youd take it without blinking so i love it when yall try to act like yall have the utmost morality when its all about business and making money in this world. the name calling and "rip off" references is not necessary and this is personal belief because my dealership does not sell any car for more than the MSRP states. And if you say you wouldnt take more money than whatever you have that you sell is worth...your telling a bold face lie.

If I could walk into a dealership and pay the MSRP for it, I'd love that. I've never purchased a new car, so I don't know how it goes. I know though buying a used car from a dealership can be like pulling teeth however. Not saying I've ever been ripped off, just saying that it took a while before I was happy with what I paid for a vehicle. I wish there were more honest dealerships around like yours.
