  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Huddleston's Build Thread

How do you like the al priority and where exactly did you mount it? Thinking of getting that one since it seemed like it was the best on radar roys website

they are mounted in the grille. I have two up front. in Arkansas most troopers and local PD still use radar. I had no need for rear laser jammers because the likelihood of me encountering that is very low. I got the system primarily for use in road rallies.

As always quality isn't cheap.

Thanks for that info, yeah it's not cheap but when a speeding ticket can screw* up your career it's worth having even if you don't speed. I'll probably get it in a month or so since I'll go the 5 route. What they need to do is give all the money from tickets to fix the highways instead of letting police finance themselves.

you don't need a 5 head system. two are sufficient for the front of a midsize car like the Genesis. Two will cover the rear as well. No need to waste money on the 3rd head for the front. The only vehicles that need 3 heads on the front are large trucks and SUVs.

I might get 4 then, I still need to add paint protection film to my front bumper. Makes me wish I didn't put down 30k and saved 10k for mods lol. You got to shoot a vid on the exaust sound I'm excited to hear it roar.

I will have an exhaust video and a fun video of the whole car in the next few months.

In February I will be hydro dipping the car nardo grey. it is not plasti-dip. this product is specifically designed for cars and will have the added benefit of protecting my paint and is easily removable. I am helping a friend promote his business and changing the look of the car up should be fun. One thing I am not sure of is the color I want to go with for the wheels. Black or bronze? thoughts?

Sorry I'm a visual person and needed to see an example of both. Here's an Audi with Bronze Wheels:

Here's one with black wheels:

I gotta say I prefer the black.

Question is what will you do with your old rims lol

You have to remember that the black trim on the Audi helps the wheels pop, I'm sure your wheels(rims?) will still be badass even with grey body

all of the trim and the grill will be black as well so the look should be similar. I am most likely going to paint the calipers black also.

You have done some magnificent work to your car, and to me at least, a model of how tasteful upgrades can be preformed without affecting the elegance or the over all appearance of the vehicle.

My suggestion is to go with custom engraved caliper covers, they are few $$$ for a set, but in my humble opinion, they do add presence to the overall look of the vehicle.

So far, I find they do stay clean, seem to hold up pretty well and noticed they do seem to keep break dust to a minimum.

I was thinking of getting caliper covers too, but want to stay away from red or yellow as those colors, imo, are reserved for BBKs and the last thing I want is for people to think I have a BBK when I don't. If I do that, I might as well slap a V8 badge on my V6.

So if I can't get yellow or red, what other colors would look good on a gray car with gray wheels? More gray? LOL. First world problems.

I really appreciate that as you've described the goal for my build. Tastefully modified.

I haven't ever looked into the caliper covers, I'll have to look to see what they look like.

I agree. I don't really want them to pop but rather be understated.

I'll take an alternate opinion.
I prefer some color and also powder coating the calipers vs covers.
Here was my previous CTS-V in silver. Also another V in gray.

Would like to locate another set of calipers off a G2 that I could send out for powder coating. Don't want to tie up my car on jack stands, pulling mine and waiting to get them back from the powder coater.
