If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Has anyone done this yet?

I've been reading for the last hour and have found nothing.

Wrong keyword searches? Perhaps. Getting intrigued by mathematics while looking around the site. Definitely.

I'm interested in dumping my 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec SEMA projects that I purchased in March for a 2015 Genesis Sedan 5.0 Ultimate.

Main reason for asking this....

I have set of wheels that I just recently had built that will be part of my main reason for buying the vehicle either now or a year from now. If they fit, I will buy it. If not, I will continue my current build.

That might sound like odd reasoning, but it's my reasoning.

After a brief check, I believe what I have will fit the rear currently. However, I'm not certain as to the front. Getting a dealer to play along hasn't been exactly fun. That and I won't allow their careless technicians to touch my wheels in any way shape or form.

Thanks for playing and I hope someone has an answer for me.

I can't even get my 2 year old to stop tackling her little sister.

You seem very mature for a two year old.

Thanks! LOL.

If we pickup the Sedan, we'll more than likely become a site sponsor. My company is two years old so that's what I put for age.

I know this so far:

Front
245/40-19
19x8.5? (maybe an 8 with a wider tire?)
Offset ??????????????????????????????

Rear
Tire
275/40-19
Wheel
19x10 (275 is standard for a 10" wheel)
Offset ??????????????????????????????

And just in case anyone is curious...

Better look again as all your research is wrong or the Hyundai site is wrong.

On the 5.0

Tires front. 245/40 19. Wheels 18 x 8J (Strangely enough the US site shows 18 x 8.5)

Tires rear. 275/35 19. Wheels 18 x 8.5J (Strangely enough the US site shows 18 x 9)

You could take the car on an extended test drive and try swapping the tires in your own garage to check for issues.

I took the car on two test drives that were 3 hours each. In addition, I took several shorter test drives.

I'm a little confused...

The info I have came off the car itself. The tire sizes that I quoted were on the vehicle that I test drove.

I put the question marks because I was trying to determine the sizing... My guess for the wheel size with a 275 tire was 10" but being that they're square profile, they are probably a 9 or 9.5.

The fronts are probably an 8.5 as I can't imagine putting an 8" wheel on a 420hp 4500lb vehicle.

My dealership didn't seem to keen on letting me do that.... I guess my age and highly modified Genesis and Optima, I can't say I blame them but they shouldn't profile like that.

Being only 2 years old I would freakout also. :D

Since when does tire width have anything to do with load capacity?

Look it up here. http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/tyre-size-for-rim-size-width-calculator

I'm not thinking from a load capacity standpoint. I'm thinking from a performance standpoint.

A good setup for this would be exactly as I'm thinking it might be.

8.5" front and a 10" rear. However, they're probably slightly smaller.

But again, I'm not really worried about the wheel/tire sizes as much as I am offset.

Offset is absolutely the most important piece to me right now. I'm going to borrow the car, have it measured, and then take it back, lol.

I just looked in the 5.0 manual is lists:

2WD

245/40R19 - 8.5JX19
275/35R19 - 9.0JX19

Now I have some Vossen 19" wheels:

19X8.5F and 19X10R - I may try to test fit them this weekend.

Just put on 19x8.5, 245/35/19 and 19x10, 275/35/19, offsets +25, on my 3.8 AWD and no issues with the staggered setup or AWD. Dealership said I would have to go to a 40 series in the front, so far no problems.

Can you post some pictures or email them?

You are playing with fire as the diameters on the tires you have are not close enough compared to stock and this is why you dealer said go with 40 series up front like the stockers. You may prematurely wear out something in the AWD as it will be fighting with itself. Maybe it will last a month, maybe a year, maybe 150,000 miles.

The 5.0 has 40s in the front and 35s in the back. I plan on just putting the OEM tires on my wheels.

The height of the fronts and backs are the same. The rears are wider, so the 35 aspect ratio is equivalent to the 40 on front.

this is likely to create an AWD problem. In addition, stability control, ABS, and other things may not work well.

Good thing that I have RWD. I'll to get the wheels on this week for a test fit.

I hope you like paying for a new center differential when your warranty coverage is declined.

Will an 18" wheel and tire work on a 5.0 as a spare tire? Will the brake calipers fit? Will the wheel from the old generation Genesis fit on the current generation Genesis (easier to find for a spare)?

Has anyone figured out yet what is the front and rear wheel offsets for 2015 Genesis 5.0?
Thx

See my build thread.

I am running 20x9 and 20x10.5 and I think I have the oem specs posted there or in one of the aftermarket threads I started last summer.

good luck and welcome.
