Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

I see a lot of dealers in the LA area slashing prices finally for the 2015 models, specially the 5.0's.... it's about time!!

I bought a 2015 5.0 in early March for 38K. There was a $8K contribution by Hyundai. The remainder of the discount came from the dealer. However, after reading this forum, I made the decision to purchase the Hyundai extended service plan. The price for that was negotiated , and seemed like a bargain when compared to the repair cost of the electronics.
A number of dealers in the Northern VA area were pricing the 5.0 well into the mid to upper $40's, thinking they could pocket the Hyundai contribution.
BTW, the car puts a smile on my face every time I mash the right pedal. All I drove in the 60's and 70's were rear wheel drive V8 muscle cars. I replaced a 2010 Caddy STS V8 with the Genesis, which has bigger tires than my C5 Vette that is parked next to it in the garage. At my age, there are more new cars in my past then in my future, so it is mandatory to buy something that slaps a smile on your face. It's a great feeling to walk into the garage and have a choice of two V8 rwd cars to drive. Neither of them is the best or fastest in their class, but both of them will get your heart pumping, and turn their tires into air pollution .

Just curious I noticed you are in Florida did you get the AWD because it was a very good deal (because it was) or were you looking to buy a AWD anyway. What color did you get? Congrats on the new car.

I got the white AWD Ultimate for my summer home in Denver area. I may go there in the winter too and thought AWD is the way to go. I was told by a Florida dealer that they don't even sell AWD in Florida. This may be overkill but I also have a 2015 white 5.0 Ultimate in Florida too

I like the way you think. A G2 Genesis in both locations is excellent.

We're working towards the summer home in CO thing (wintering where we live now in TX), except ours will probably be around Ft Collins.

Yes, I was able to get it registered and on the Myhyundai.com website without any issues. Are you getting any specific errors?

Just bought a 2016 RWD 3.8L Genesis yesterday in LA. I got the Signature package MSRP of 43,500 (actually $46,500 as the dealer had added on an alarm system and already removed back hyundai symbol and replaced with genesis symbol and a couple other small things that they placed value to 46,500.. but the package itself is Signature).

The big deal for me was the 60 months 0.0% apr financing that Hyundai is currently offering on qualified Genesis buyers. Unfortunately could not combine with the $1000 Valued Owner incentive. I was able to come out at $39,250 (was not easy to negotiate) with 0 down and the 0% financing for 5 years. Felt more than fair for such a beautiful car.

I just picked one up in the OC yesterday same MSRP same package (signature about $43,780 MSRP). I felt that I got a good deal at $36,500 after all rebates and incentives, plus they gave me even money on my trade which was a lease that still had 20 months left! Based on my calculations (and other dealerships / carmax offers) I should have been $2500 negative on the trade, so I count that as more incentive in my book.

I did the 36mo lease special, ended up being $2500 drive offs (incl first month and DMV etc + about $1100 in cap cost I think) and payment incl tax (8%) is $340/mo. I thought it was a kick-ass deal for a $43k car that in comparison to the Lexus is worth closer to $50k in value. Couldn't be happier, and got out of a lease that was almost double that per month.

Well finally pulled the trigger. 2015 5.0 ultimate, never titled, 2700 miles for $38,000 plus $244 dealer doc fee and drive away tags. Tax and title will be covered by me separately. Thank to the forum for educating me on how to get the best deal I could! Look forward to many great years and miles with the car. Great dealership and sales person I worked with at Iowa.

They do have more incentives/rebates going on on the 2016 leases than they do purchases, so I believe the 36.5k cap cost on the 2016 signature may only be possible on a lease. That's a great deal you got either way. For me I couldn't pass up on the 0 down 0% financing for the purchase - I'm hoping the resale value stays decent in 5 years, but either way I'm having a blast driving it so far.

I got mine a few weeks ago in the L.A. area. It's a new (40 mi.) 2015 3.8 Ultimate RWD. Leased it for 3 years/10k miles/yr. Final cap cost was about $38,700 on a $50,500 sticker). Monthly payment is $394.

The lease money factor was .00012 which equates to about .2%; a huge subsidy by Hyundai. The mf on the MB E & C-Classes I was looking at was .00152 which equates to about 3.6%! Due to the low rate lease the dealer just rolled the drive offs into the lease and it was delivered to me with zero dollars out of pocket. I still haven't paid a dime on the car and have been enjoying the heck out of it for 3 weeks.

The only smidgen of buyer's remorse I'm having is 1) should I have just gone ahead and bought the car (0% apr) and 2) as good as the deal is I'm wondering if I could have gotten nearly as good a deal on a 2016!

Hi ,

thanks the dealer was able to resolve it for me.

now thats a good deal, assuming u didn't have a trade in that they reemed u on.

*****Ok the Experience**********.

Hearing the price i jumped on the deal to soon, after signing the papers the dealer told me there is only one set of key. the other key is missing . after a lot of back and forth he gave me a second key fob ( used form another car) and asked me to get it reprogrammed from another dealer. ( he said he cannot program it there- he is a HYUNDAI Dealer).
when i asked for some kind of assurance that the used key fob can be reprogrammed he said take it or leave it you are free to walk out, i spoke to the GM and he said the same( was a bit arrogant) , this was after spending couple of hours driving and at the dealership.
-Charged 70$ for nitrogen in tires when i asked to take that out i didnot want it , i was again told Take it or leave it they will let me walk out.

*****************the issues***********

-The Sunroof was rattling for the past week and it Completely stopped working today. struggled for 30 mins to get it to close.
-There is a whistling/annoying Wind noise from the Driver side window between 25-45 mph (i checked windows are fully closed).
-Some Vibrations in steering while braking.
-The Second used key fob provided did not work . i spent 465$ on a New Key( fob+ cutting+programming).
-lot of paint chips Discovered on the hood not sure how i couldnot see them when i picked the car.
-the Car Wheel Keys were missing i had to order them Separately.
-Blind spot detection works choppy I have to turn it on off a few times to start working.
- the Odometer on bill of sale was marked as 9417 but the actual miles when i picked up were 9714. ( i guess this was overlooked)
- as someone in this forum pointed out the Gap between the Hood lining on left and right i have the same issue , the left side of the hood has 1/2 inch more gap then right side.

Overall i think i got the Best price but starting to feel like a lemon.

will post the Dealer name if they dont try to resolve.

Just got a certified 2015 3.8 Ultimate with 20k miles for $32,000. Absolutely LOVING the car!

Mate, that's an awesome price. I am looking at a 2015, AWD Tech package with 17k miles, asking $33,500, I will offer $30k to see if they bite. Do you mind sharing where you got it. I am in the East Coast (NJ).

Enjoy it!!

You should have walked out. And taken a shit on the floor. Sorry - but you got reamed from every angle.
