  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lowering the 2015 Genesis sedan

I'm not remotely into the whole modding thing and never have been. I take the approach of buying a car that meets my needs stock, and not immediately looking for a 100 different ways to spend money changing the car I just bought.

But clearly others enjoy the process and feel they gain a net benefit from the time and money invested. Since the time and money spent are theirs - not mine - their satisfaction is all that matters.

What I don't understand AT ALL is the claim that individual modifications to specific vehicles somehow hurt the brand overall. I suspect that the reason I don't understand it is because it doesn't make even a little bit of sense.

But even that absurdity looks almost cerebral in comparison to someone saying they are going to sell their car because someone on the internet is modding the same model. Unreal.

WELCOME to the Internet :D

I've seen Genesis here in the city as taxi.

This statement drifted into my head again this morning. If they are being used in livery - then that is a actually a very GOOD sign. The industry does not have a habit of buying unreliable or expensive to maintain cars. That is why the Crown Vic ruled for so many years here in the US and now has shifted largely to Toyotas and Hondas. I have also seen an increasing amount of Sonatas.

Every car is a cab these days. Two words - Uber and Lyft.

Lol... true - but I meant from your more traditional cab companies.

Funny you mention Uber...

I didn't have my G2 a week and they emailed me out of thin air saying I could work for them, charge higher and run as Uber Plus or Uber Select because of my car.

How & why the hell they knew about my purchase before almost anyone else was quite puzzling.

Oh - and in a word: HELL no!

bottoming out is also a concern. u wont be able to drive throught rough alley ways without being careful.

If you're just on springs, bottoming out on the vast majority of roads won't be a problem. I had my Coupe on coilovers as low as I could get it on stock alignment specs with dampening set at 9/12 stiff all around, and bottoming out/scraping was only an issue on really steep driveways. Tires rubbing in the fenders, different story.

Another reason why I'm might move away from the Genesis line ∆∆∆

Opinions are like *******s, everyone has one, and most of them stink. In this case, some of them don't make sense, which actually isn't like an ******* at all.... When I buy a Ferrari in the distant future, I will probably mod that too. Go figure.

Thanks to everyone else, you either answered my question or pointed me in the right direction to get the answers. Thanks again.

The Genesis line is the new accord. Like a said before I'm not here to convince you how tacky this look. Thats just my opinion carry-on

The Genesis line is the new accord.

If that's what you really believe then the G2 is not the car for you, nor is this forum.

**Disclaimer - my comment above has absolutely nothing to do with how tacky any bad-taste mods look or not. It is simply to address this idea of diminishing the significance and/or value of my car based upon what someone else does with their car which happens to be the same model. Just because what someone else does with their car makes it look retarded does not impact my car or anyone's perception of it... because mine looks pretty fkin sharp - and anyone who thinks otherwise can go suck on a tailpipe.

:)
