  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any lowering springs for 2015 Genesis sedan?

I caved in and had the alignment done at the stealers for $99 due to convenience. Car is a tad smoother.

The service guy at Hyundai dealer said i could take the car to any computerized four wheel alignment that had the 2015 Genesis specs. Said it's mechanical adjustments unrelated to Lane assist and smart cruise control etc...yet Firestone still insisted they couldn't perform 2015 Genesis sedan. Also got a mixed bag at other local alignment shops when I mentioned the technology of lane assist and smart cruise.....

has anyone had issues with the ARK GT-F springs not seating correctly in the front with the stock rubber pads? my installer can't get them to seat properly. says the coils are thicker in diameter than the stock ones. the result is a klunk noise over some bumps and a groaning noise when the springs are compressed (ie big speed bump).

I'm going to try calling ARK but honestly if I'm going to have to pay for another install to see if it *MIGHT* solve the problem I might just go to storm springs instead, even though i don't want much more of a drop than the GT-Fs.

Wanted to show my before and after lowering springs

Tops before, bottoms afterwards

I have to go back to stock springs now. The springs affected my suspension in a way that has worn my tires completely out.

I got the springs properly seated and all noises are gone. Ray, you must have gotten a bad alignment, tires shouldn't wear that fast even on lowered springs. it's not that dramatic of a drop, even with GT-S springs.

What size rims?

What size rims do you have?

has anyone installed ARK springs on a Htrac Genesis yet?

This is my first post. Been lurking for a while now. I just got 20x9 rims on my car and am now ready to lower it. I've been looking at the GT-S springs but ARK no longer lists them for the V8. I gave them a call and they said the drop was too low because of the weight of the V8. I saw dareckibmw's post about them being too low in the front but working on a fix. Has anyone put the GT-F on? Is the drop aggressive enough?

It's been almost a year since I switched from S type to F type springs. So far, so good, no complain at all.

I don't have the exact numbers before I lowered my car, but the latest numbers are below. Can any of you V8 guys, not lowered at all, go out and take some pictures - from the ground to top of the arch, same as on my pics. So we can see how much is the dropped after a year?

I would like to, and while Im not sure there is anything wrong with ark (I don't know who winds them or where they get their steel), after bombing around in my volvo the other day, I am reminded of just how good, predictable, and consistent Eibach PK and Bilstein (b8 shortbodies) pairings are. It may take Eibach another year or two, same w/ Bilstein, but I'm sure it will happen, then it's go time. JM2C

Hey Derek, I measured my 2017 5.0 Ultimate and came up with similar results on my stock 19s 245/40/19 and 275/35/19....around 27 3/4in in front and 27 1/2 in back from ground to bottom center of fender. It's all stock right now, but that is quickly changing :)

Your wheel and tire circumference may be different, hence your similar results on aftermarket wheels?

For everyone that has done this install or coilovers, is it as simple as removing the strut and shock from the underside of the chassis, the 4 bolt bracket and the 2 bolt in the rear? I didn't get the impression that there were any bolts in the engine bay or in the trunk area to remove looking from underneath.

Probably removing the two ball joints on front knuckle and then the 4 bolts to the chassis, taking the arms and front strut out in one piece? And rear just the bottom bolt and two top bolts to the chassis? Plus the trailing arm and brake lines of course.

It looks pretty straightforward, but appreciate any pointers you may have :)

About ready to pull the trigger on my coilovers!

I have been reading up on this thread and got most of my questions answered. I have recently purchased 2015 Genesis Ultimate v6 3.8 just got tints on it. I am planning to get ARK Performance GT-S on my stock wheels. I have few questions before making final purchase.

Thank you in advance for your help.

1) The shop quoted $350 with alignment for installation. (Near Chicago)
2) Any loss of features like drive assist like Lane departure warning & lane keep assist or any other features?
3) Loss of performance for GT-S over the time?
4) Anything I should be looking out for?
5) Any rubbing for v6 on stock wheels?

I know this thread is old but just got my lowering springs installed last week. Loving how it drives. Now for some wheel spacers. Anyone with ARK GT-S and stock wheels? What size spacers should I get? 7D8B740B-14CB-42C7-AA5E-CBFDFC75826E.webp

Since you're on GT-S's and the front sank in about 1 1/2 inch, I would be very careful using any spacers on the front, you'll damage your tires/fenders turning right/left getting on/off of driveways, etc., unless you go ~3mph, which is ridiculous, lol
