  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

Why would you buy a buyback lemon, at any price?

If you really want to take that risk, I would assume that there would not be too many buyers for a car like that, so you should have more leverage. What was your opening offer? Stick with that, and/or ask for more in that. It is OK to walk away, and let them come to you...it is end of the month, so that is good for you too.

IMHO, with the car history, that car would not be my preference.

so im still working the buy back deal. dealer came down to $33k with a new set of tires thrown in. they asked what tires I want...any suggestions?

Either get the Conti ProContact TX's (original equipment) or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. I've read posts on Tire Rack and these two are the only ones that don't have "out of round" or balancing issues. The Conti's are going to be much quieter, but less sporty. Just depends on your driving style.

Reiterating Rick's comment, why get a buyback? There are so many 2015 and 2016's out there for sale. Just use Cars.com or HyundaiCertified.com.

Thanks for the feedback. I hear ya on the buy back...not preferred. I have spent a fair amount of time on cars, auto trader, etc and finding 2015' ult, AWD, not white with <20k miles that is less than 300 miles from me is slim pickings. I can do A 5 hour drive but not looking to go much further.

Are you willing to pay transport costs? Here in Texas, AWD models are everywhere. Dealers keep trying to push one on me, but I'm resolute in getting RWD. I have no need for AWD in Dallas.

So I've walked away from the lemon although the dealer has come back with an offer of $32.5k with new Michelin's (valued at $1,200). The bottom line is that there really is no proof that the issues are resolved other than their word and willingness to honor remaining new car warranty. The search continues. As far as finding something in Tx...that's a reach since I would want to see the car in person before I buy. even if transport costs make sense that has me flying to Tx or elsewhere beforehand. also makes trading in the 2010 not an option.
appreciate everyone's clear thinking on this.

Take a look at Jim Ellis in Atlanta, GA. I got mine from them.

Jim Ellis is praised for great prices for extended warranties. Just be aware of that. Buying a car & extended warranty in a good deal is a good way to go.

My car broker has said Jim Ellis will not budge from prices on their websites. They have 10 Genesis' with the Ultimate package, with most being Black/Black. Mileage varies from 9,000 to 13,000.

Negotiated very well without any hassle.

So I've finally made the move. Found 2015, awd ultimate, monticito blue, 18 k miles, 1 owner. Paid $31k, got $7,300 for my 2010 4.6 w/106k miles. Drove 3 hours to get the car but well worth it. What a difference.

Awesome! Great deal! Congratulations!

Picked up a 2015, 3.8 with tech package for $30,500…Parisian Gray. 27k miles, beautiful and well taken care of. Traded in my 2013 3.8 base model Genny sedan……love all the bells and whistles.

Is your's RWD or HTrac? Mine is also a 3.8 Tech (H-Trac) in Parisian Gray.
I love it so much. I paid $32,250 for mine with 18k miles.

I paid $36k for my 2015 5.0 Ultimate with 57 miles... In October 2016

It's just RWD…don't find too many AWD out here in Tx. I thought about it for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger. Very happy.

I am currently closing a deal for 2015 5.0 12k miles, CPO, Montecito blue/ivory interior at $32,000. Seams like a pretty good deal even with $1500 shipping.

I am eyeballing a 2016 rwd, signature, 14k miles, been sitting on lot for over 100 days, price is at 26K
