I did a quadruple change this weekend. I upgraded to iOS 8, I upgraded to an iPhone 6 (from a 5), I changed carriers from AT&T to T-Mobile, and I setup my new iPhone 6 as a new device (I did not restore from my iPhone 5 backup).
Yesterday I discovered that my 2012 Genesis Tech does not display the caller name with incoming calls. This worked perfectly with my iPhone 5 and iOS 7. There are several threads on our forum already on this topic (see below), but none of those get to a point of a solution or understanding. So, I am starting a new consolidated thread that I hope will get to a fix.
I am noticing that incoming calls are formatted x-xxx-xxx-xxxx, and that is how the calls look in my call history. Outgoing calls work perfectly, and they display the caller name. Unfortunately, I cannot see how the calls came in prior to all my changes, so I do not know if that is the cause.
Since I did a new iPhone setup, the problem could be a setting somewhere that I made previously but cannot remember. It could also be something different with iOS 8 or with the way T-Mobile is sending caller ID to and through the phone.
1: Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it?
2: Those with an iPhone, both working and not working, can you post your setup (Phone version, iOS version, and carrier)? I want to see if there is a common relationship between one of the three differentiating variables and the caller ID problem.
-------
For reference, these are the other two threads I found where this was discussed previously.
