  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I posted them about an hour ago., G80s were 217.

October 2018 Sales

51 sales of the G70 in the US in October. That is pretty sad when considering most were fleet sales.

We have a new state, welcome Minnesota to the list. We also had a few new dealers since the last update as well as losing SC. The 2019s are now available in 12 states at 30 dealers. NJ has caught up with GA for having the most dealers, 6, and Alabama is one behind with five

I will crosspost in the similar thread.

It's a little funny that NJ, GA, and AL have the most availability whereas the huge car markets like FL, CA, TX have no dealers at this point.

I’m sure they would love to be selling in those states, and all states, but because of legal/lawsuits/regulations/etc. issues they can’t yet. Hopefully things break through soon in more states.

its baffling to think a car company with network of Hyundai is incapable of sorting its dealership issues for almost an entire year after announcing a brand new marquee product. I think if one can wait till next year this time 2019 G70s will be up for grabs for 20-30% discounts brand new.

Did you get your Design?! Pugi's website was showing it, but not anymore.

Yes, took delivery Tuesday. Beautiful car, great people to deal with, wife couldn’t be happier.
And before anyone asks, price was well below MSRP. Someone off the street wouldn’t get the deal I did, at least not yet, which makes the details irrelevant.
But you will NOT pay MSRP, They want to sell cars.
Ask for Dave Novak, Sales Manager.

Awesome. Enjoy the new ride!

The rollout of new coke in the mid 1980s looks brilliant compared to the G70 rollout. I was ready to buy this car last spring (then summer) but now I will probably wait for the new BMW 3 series which comes out next spring. Check out the reviews—they are fantastic. Why the heck would I buy a car from a corporation that has no clue how to release a new car in a huge market and also does very little communication with their dealers and potential buyers. Why also didn’t they hire a few people to help the various states fulfill their requirements to sell their cars! I started a new thread titled “Time to move on” for those of you who feel the same way I do. Let’s hope someone st Genesis reads it but I doubt they are even aware of these forums because they are clueless fools.

I'm lost on this comment. They should hire people to help the states? You mean they should go to the appropriate statehouse and help?

Connecticut has its first Genesis dealer listed on the site.

Does anyone know if you are permitted to register a G70 in your state if there is no genesis dealers approved in your state?
For example, there are no dealerships approved in Maryland but I could go cross the stateline to VA and buy the car but I would have to register it in MD where I live. would Maryland DMV recognize G70 and allow me to do that?

Sure, the only requirement is for you to pay the appropriate tax. Dealers near state lines will take care of everything for you as they do it all the time.

That makes sense, thanks. I have done that before, but it was always established brands and they had dealerships in my state so there was never a question of is this car registration-worthy according to my state. So I wouldn't be surprised if you are not approved to sell a car in a State, you would not be permitted to register one either. But I trust what you and Beefer said.

Yes, I posted about them sometimes showing up depending on what zip code is being used. Looks like they have fixed that.

I don't put them on the list until they have inventory which hopefully will be within the next week or so.

Congrats on the purchase. Don't need specifics on your deal but since you've been through the process do you have any recommendations on what we should be targeting off of MSRP?

1) Well What was it?
2) Why can't anyone else get it (Why are you special - do you work for Hyundai or know the dealer or something?)
3) What sale price do you think is realistic for the rest of us?

Time to sharpen the pitchforks and chase out another recent buyer! ⚔️
