  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Well they heard everyone's complaints about the trunk since it should be fixed next year.

I loved this feature on my '15 Genesis (G80). It feels baller to hit the button and walk away with it closing behind you.

To add...hopefully they added it to the remote. Long press to open. Then long press again to close. Not sure if the G80/90 does that.

On G90 the in cabin button (not the fob) does that.

I don't like the blinker...it practically takes a U turn to get it to shut off.

If you make a turn from say a stop light and then get going straight, the blinker doesn't shut off. I have to manually turn it off. Seems it needs a large radius to reset itself. Even getting onto the highway from an on-ramp, it won't shut off.
Well the on ramp thing is fine...since you are not making a turn. But if you are actually making a >= 90° turn...it should turn off. If it doesn't...something is wrong. Perhaps blow some compressed air or something around the lever.

I will try that...many times I'm rolling down the road and realize the blinker is still on

Wow that's weird. Almost all cars turn them off way less than 90 degrees, I would say at around 60 degrees turn.

This is funny because I was totally going to post this a long time ago and then thought maybe it was just me. lol

I have gotten used to it, but when the car was new several times I drove a mile or so with my blinker on like an idiot because of exactly what you mentioned. I have one large intersection that I make a left hand turn on every day and more than half the time the blinker doesn't turn off when straightening out. It could definitely be adjusted.

This sounds like a Hyundai/Kia thing. I've noticed this "issue" with my Optima and my previous '15 Genesis (G80). Leaving work, I have a left turn that's less than 90 degrees, and it takes an exaggerated left turn to auto-turn off the blinker when the steering wheel returns to center.

Thank you!!! I was beginning to wonder if it was me! Now I have confirmation that I'm not the only one...and yeah, I feel like a total idiot w/ my blinker on for so long :tooth:

no 'blinker issue' with my G70. this innocuous item operates as it has in any car i've owned.

Same here, never noticed an issue with the blinker

My Mercedes GLC is like that. Unless you make a 90 degree angle turn, the turn signal will not shut off on its own.

For the radio controls thing: I've thought about it and the way they have it oriented makes absolute perfect sense to me; I'm impressed that they thought about it and designed as such. Here's my best shot at explaining why they did it they way that they did:

For those that don't know what this is talking about: when the radio control screen is visible on the infotainment screen, and you press the "tune" wheel up on the steering wheel, the radio moves "down" a preset channel (from 3 to 2 to 1). When the radio control screen is not visible and you press the "tune" wheel up, the radio moves "up" a preset channel (from 3 to 4 to 5). A lot of people have said this is backwards and doesn't make sense.

It makes perfect sense and here's why: your television is the same way!!! When the TV guide (radio control screen) is visible, and you press channel up (tune wheel up) the channel moves "down" (3 to 2 to 1) because we have a visual aid that we associate the action of pressing up with moving the selector "up" the list. Vice versa, when the TV guide (radio control screen) is NOT visible, and you press channel up (tune wheel up) the channel moves "up" (3 to 4 to 5) because we want to go "up" a channel and move to the next channel.

This is impressive to me because they put the thought and design into visual aids vs. perception of what the tune wheel does depending on what screen is visible. Basically, the wheel changes function depending on what screen is visible BECAUSE OF HUMAN PERCEPTION. Very smart, Genesis!!!

Nice try with the logic. But there’s a problem.

First, to clarify the situation: when the radio screen is on, presets are listed from 1 to x in ascending order (low to high). Clicking the steering wheel control up changes the preset to the one above in the list. Clicking down, changes the preset to the one below. Perfectly reasonable and intuitive.

When any other screen is displayed, including the Home screen which has both the mini map and a mini radio screen, the click control does the opposite. Clicking up moves the preset to the next preset with the higher numerical number (as you said) so P1 goes to P2. As if the presets are sorted from high to low. This is the exact opposite to the main radio screen. Even if you can argue the logic behind the programming, it is completely not intuitive since the control behaves in 2 different and opposite ways. Not safe. You should not have to look at the screen to pre-assess how a dedicated switch will work. That is not good interface programming.
