  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Nice try with the logic. But there’s a problem.

First, to clarify the situation: when the radio screen is on, presets are listed from 1 to x in ascending order (low to high). Clicking the steering wheel control up changes the preset to the one above in the list. Clicking down, changes the preset to the one below. Perfectly reasonable and intuitive.

When any other screen is displayed, including the Home screen which has both the mini map and a mini radio screen, the click control does the opposite. Clicking up moves the preset to the next preset with the higher numerical number (as you said) so P1 goes to P2. As if the presets are sorted from high to low. This is the exact opposite to the main radio screen. Even if you can argue the logic behind the programming, it is completely not intuitive since the control behaves in 2 different and opposite ways. Not safe. You should not have to look at the screen to pre-assess how a dedicated switch will work. That is not good interface programming.
I disagree with you. I find it very logic too. What is the screen for if is not for looking at it? If you have the radio screen showing the radio stations and you move the handle up you will like to see what's moving on the screen going up in the same direction. When yo have another screen and you want to find another station if you go up with the handle and nothing shows on the screen your brain goes up too.

Agree...as well as the original analysis. Played it out exactly yesterday...and makes total sense.

Well Genesis will be happy that u guys like it that way. And it’s cool because different folks, different strokes etc.

However, I will maintain my POV: a dedicated control should never operate in different ways. Examples: when u rotate a volume control clockwise, the volume should go up, not down; moving the gear selector backwards moves into drive, forward moves into reverse; moving the indicator lever up activates the right turn signal, not the left. If any of these did the opposite of what you expect, u would not be happy. Imagine a pilot, when he/she wants to move flaps from position 2 to position 1, it will not be good if it went to position 3 instead. Tons of examples.

Read up on muscle memory and human machine interfaces.

Or just enjoy your car because like I said, it’s cool if this is not something you dislike :)

Boy, this is a really long list of important problems - - Not. Maybe it's a good car after all.;)

True, so far my list is small....except for my 80kmh vibration. That has to be fixed!

Sorry, guys; I don't know how to PM on this site.

ikonn, I don't come to this forum often enough to remember your particular situation, but I'm assuming you're talking about a new car. If it feels like a tire out of balance, and that has been checked, have all the tires checked for an 'out-of-round' condition. It is a very simple test, but no one wants to admit that modern, good quality tires can get out of the factory in this condition. Believe me, they can and do.

Another thing to check is to see if all/most of the weights are in one place on the wheel. In that case, the tire should be dismounted from the wheel, partially rotated and rebalanced. Spend a little money, and find a GOOD tire shop. This sort of thing is not in the dealer service shop's "How to - - " handbook.

Good luck,

I have had to go back to the tire shop for a re-balance more than once. Even if they have the latest "road-force balancing machine", I'm not sure they always fully utilize it because it takes extra time.

Could just be a defective tire or maybe even rim.

I had a tire tested in the road force thing after a balance didn’t fix my vibration and they told me it was defective and I needed a new tire. I had them rebalance one more time to be sure and what do you know, comes back out of balance and now no vibration at all. Never hurts to doublecheck someone’s work

Sorry. I should clarify.

I’m just saying that over the years on various vehicles, had it happen more than once . Just go back to the tire shop and complained, and on the second try they had it fixed. I’m not talking big vibrations but ever so sleight but definitely noticeable. I think that sometimes they don't always get it on the first try.

Fuel consumption. So I drove around just a bit yesterday. Didn't even give er. Then today...drove around town. Punched it 3 times.

I was in Sport the entire time. Blew through a 1/2 tank of fuel. Holy fvck. To be expected I suppose. I will slowly stay in Comfort more often...I am just having too much fun in Sport.

Now...at the end of the day...it doesn't really affect me. I work from home...so filling up will probably be every 2 (perhaps) 3 weeks.

I will be using 93 in it. I know it probably doesn't need it. But cleaner and will make it perform better.

Small tank. Same situation here. My Acura had 10 liters more capacity. The G70 needs at least a 65 liter tank. 70 would be ideal!

Plus mine is new...consumption will improve over time.

Did you notice that the distance to empty does not dynamically change based on how good or bad you're on the gas?

Didn’t pay attention to that. I was just watching the needle drop as I floored it...LOL

What is the tank size? 60 I'm guessing.

Good luck,

Thanks. But the car is 1 week old so Genesis better fix it. I’m optimistic.

Rear center console that drops down...they could have easily added storage space behind the cup holders.

I'll have to take a look at that now.
For me, it is the front ahead of the cupholders where there is a empty flat spot.
Could have easily made that a cubby of some sort for more storage since the center armrest storage is so shallow.
Also the netting behind the front seats could have been a fully covered pocket!

I am struggling with the wipers. Unfortunately...I’ve driven my new ride more in the rain than dry...really sucks.

I have my wipers on Auto. I cannot first a proper position on the rocker sensitivity switch.

With rain and speed consistent...wipers will go from acceptable speed to full blast speed. I then have to turn them off to settle them down.

Not getting it...and it’s annoying as fvck...especially when I should be paying attention to the road...not playing with controls.
