  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Winter wheel & tire packages?

I just did my swap, and didn't need alternate lug nuts ... or at least I don't think so!
The skinny lug nuts are just to reduce change of the bolt scratching the paint off the rims (the Fast wheel lug space are pretty tight). As long as one is careful, believe original nuts will work fine as well. Genesis factory order does come with extra lug nuts and my aftermarket tire shop also use the skinny nuts as well.

I ordered my G70 and got it delivered on Oct 9, ordered my winter wheels and tires, was told it would be7 to 10 days max, a month later, the eta is now Mid Nov to end of Nov. I am from Edmonton and it's pretty shitty outside and i am on my summer tires... I ordered the f212 in black.
not happy right now.

I also have a set of wheels and winter tires on order through Genesis and have also been told an end of November delivery.

I spoke to the parts manager last weekend at the Hyundai dealership that's handling the tire order. What he told me is that there was unanticipated demand for the Genesis winter tire/wheel package and that there's a ton of backorders all across the country.

In my opinion, they should have sets ready to sell at the dealership instead of ordering them when customers buy vehicles. You can't tell a customer to wait a month who buys a car in winter months. That's just not right, and also do your homework Genesis if something is back ordered, don't give customers the choice to pick that specific rim in the first place.

Heard back from my GXM and the word on the street is true. All Switch wheels are backordered and so are the Continental tires.
That Bullseye doesn't look bad but the offset and width is different than the Switch.
Any comments from those who know more about wheels?

Conti's were out all over in most sizes. I shopped for the GTI last week and had to give up trying to get those, went for the x-ice 3 for both cars because there are still some in the warehouses out West.

Just confirmed with my GXM that my tires are in tomorrow so that's good. I didn't do alternative wheels so I don't have to worry about those backorders though she did confirm that they were seeing that backorder as well. May want to forego the extra set if you need them sooner. Also if you are waiting on Conti I'd consider looking at the pirrelli or X-Ice because they are much more readily available.

i guess i'm fortunate to already have my winter set - delivered 2 weeks ago after a late August order.

and the Conti SI being back-ordered must explain why they substituted a much higher-performance tire in my case - i got the Conti TS 850 P SSR (run flat). those Conti's would have cost much, much more than what i paid.

When I spoke to the parts manager at the local Hyundai dealership he was clearly frustrated as a lot of Genesis owners were complaining about the delivery delays. He said that Genesis Canada put on this winter tire / wheel promotion and they didn't tell any of the parts people. Orders started to come in from Genesis owners and he said that they had no advance time to get products pre ordered especially the TPMS modules which are needed for every wheel. He told me that when I ordered my winter set in early October and emailed the attached Genesis PDF on winter tire and wheel options it was the first time he had ever seen it. They only got the brochure officially from Genesis about 10 days after I emailed it to them.

I finally got mine ordered today. Wanted the Switch in Titanium with the Continentals but all out of stock so getting the G003 with the Michelin instead. Initially the G003 was backordered as well but apparently someone cancelled their order and a set was sitting around!
Now if only they will answer my email or call me back to book the installation appointment!

Maybe next summer I'll consider a second set of wheels but on a lease I can't see a lot of reason out here. It's like 3 months of winter and next to no gravel or snow.

Your choice convinced me to go with the G003.
I wanted the Switch Titanium for the cost bit since it was out of stock, might as well go for the one I want.
I was given a screenshot of all other options I could choose from by Fast. The FC05 was my third choice!

Did people look at the 3.3 sport with all weather tires instead of just summer? Still undecided so want so opinions

In Canada the 3.3 Sport comes with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (4s?) tires. I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember what it said on the sidewall.

Those are the summer tires, 19". The all weather are still Michelin but 18"

There was no tire option for the 3.3 Sport when I bought mine (unless you chose to buy a winter set). The other trim levels have different tires if I remember right.

Both Sports and Prestige come with the 19" staggered PS4.
