  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

G70s show up at three dealerships in the DFW area in Texas now: Bob Stallings Genesis has a manual, Freeman Genesis (Irving) has 6 i4 and 4 V6 models, Huffines Genesis of McKinney has 5 i4 and 2 V6 models, and Huffines Genesis of Plano has 9 i4 and 4 V6 models. Finally!

Once the state was approved they made a pretty big push to get the inventory in. Right now 28 out of the 31 dealers are showing inventory.

I don't see any reason why the dealers at LA (or the surrounding areas) will get a short inventory. The problem in California was to get licensed for selling cars just like many other States, as soon as that problem got resolved the dealers get their codes and the cars will flow to them. In Florida just one month after getting the license all dealers had a very good inventory. All dealers near me have at leat 20 cars each.

Good point. It makes sense that if Florida dealers have so many cars, LA dealers would also have many as this should be a big market for them.

are you referring to 'Show up' as in... on the lot OR online listing? they listed online almost 2 wks now

At least in the case of Genesis of Dallas, they have them on the lot according to the pics on car gurus.

Well, I'm excited if the G70 will show up in Los Angeles soon. If dealers in Palm Springs and Palmdale have them (those are the California dealers listed in the "dealers with inventory" document, both those cities are a few hours drive from LA), then LA should be soon.

Honestly I was very close to buying an A4, and in fact made a very lowball starting offer on one by email two nights ago (the dealer requested I come in to negotiate in person, which I will ignore until I can see a G70 in person) and I'm glad I checked in on this forum to see the latest news because that prompted me to research the G70 again and be reminded of how well-equipped it is even on the base level and what a value it is. A few weeks of trying to figure out trim levels and packages from the Germans can really make your head spin. 🤓

Really looking forward to getting in a G70 and seeing how it feels and -- for me one of the most important points -- how the Lexicon sound system sounds.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Hopefully it will be just a few weeks. Can't really judge timeframe based on Palm Springs because they had a deal with an AZ to get them to get the cars for PS so it didn't follow the normal process. Hopefully they all will be getting shipments soon.

Ten more CA dealers were issued a code this morning.

Dealers with 2019s

Edit: Corrected "Can really" to be "Can't really"

Thanx, TB. I now find I'm (going to be) surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and Genesis dealers. Unfortunately, (not really) the Pacific is closer.

I really wish there were a way to test drive the car here in LA, since there are dealers not too far away -- Arizona and Las Vegas -- where we deprived customers could conceivably buy one. I'm very interested in this car but I'm not going to put down a deposit by phone without at least trying one and hearing the stereo. Anybody at Hyundai/Genesis headquarters listening? I suggest you set up Southern Cal test drives to whip up enthusiasm... 😎

Hahhahahhaahahahah

Ugh I wish though, they could hire any of us on the forum and we could have launched this better with our eyes closed and come up with good ideas to actually drum up awareness

I'm not kidding. Genesis would be smart to set up a customer appreciation day in Southern California for the patience shown by the long suffering. Offer test drives and let local dealers set up tables. And of course, raffle off 20 cars or so to get them on the road as fast as possible. 🤓

By September time do you think negotiating on a lower price would be possible?

Some people are getting discounts now. It just depends on the dealer, the configuration, the local demand, etc. A member just posted his deal this morning that was $4k under MSRP. That is the best we have seen so far. Most are MSRP to $1k under before incentives.

Sounds easy, but considering all the legal BS with dealers it could hurt more than help.

No matter how hard you try, some people cannot be pleased, If you gave them a gold bar they would complain it is too heavy.

Thanks, I’m waiting it out for now because I want to get the price in the low 40s for a 3.3t awd sport

Dublin is the one I've been waiting for. Thank you!
I'm also waiting for Dublin! Uhh.... Dublin, CA! Looks like they finally got their code this morning (Thanks Turtle!). Texted the gen mgr there yesterday and he says they get cars after March 20th, so about 3 weeks. At least their website is updated to show the G70. :hangloose:

Sure, but it would be great customer relations for Genesis to send someone in here among the fans and offer test drives for those in areas where potential customers are still waiting for dealers and cars. BMW 3 series is coming out... Model year is winding down on some others like Audi and Mercedes. Now's the time to rally the troops... Would only be good for local dealers. Just mentioning it in case Genesis is smart enough to have someone lurking in here... 😎

IMO it would be worth it to wait to see the G70 in person before you commit to the A4. The G70 is such a beautiful car, it's so sporty, and unlike the A4 it's unique!

Not saying you are destined to get the G70 over the A4, but I just think it's worth seeing and driving it in person and going from there. It's so good!
