  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thank you sir! They will have to get the car from another dealer 2 hours away. I refused to get the car with a gray interior. So I had 3 choices when it comes to color: Gray, dark blue and red. The red is kinda dull, the gray is okay, the dark blue is okay but looks like a generic car. The car looks way better in silver, white or "Siberian ice".

Actually, I was going to wait or buy another car until found the car for them on CarGuru, they had no idea that this color existed.
Siberian Ice is definitely the most unique of the colors. I like how it looks different in different lighting situations.

Thanks for posting your numbers, you did a great job getting the discount. Looks to be almost 10% off MSRP before the $1k incentive.

Congratulations, good luck, be safe and enjoy!

It could be that we will start seeing more of the type of discounts that @Samy was able to achieve. For the first time since the G70 has come out the sales have dropped from the previous month. We had seen a steady growth in the G70 sales each month as the dealer network has grown. I would have expected the trend to continue this month especially since Texas got into full swing and California and PA were getting cars but the sales figure dropped. It was only two units from 819 in Feb to 817 in March but given that previous months showed huge gains MoM it can be a sign that the G70 wave is subsiding. Maybe just a blip due to the sales lull industry-wide, we will see.

Don't forget that March also had fewer selling days than February which is even more disconcerting. I'm also hopeful that the discounts will come, either from dealers needing to move units, or in additional incentives for May. For what its worth, I've had a local dealer tell me that the allocations of units are being somewhat heavily influenced by what a dealership has been able to do with the units it already has---those that move more units will rightfully see bigger and better allocations and/or have priority in getting specific configurations for their clients. All of that is good for customers if they can get the momentum going.

I think you mean the reverse but your point is a factor.

Been following the forum, im gonna go buy a g70 tomorrow, but this is one of the initial offers that I've gotten, and I am hoping to knock down 2k more since it was a manager - show car.

What’s the “Legacy Package”? Is that a dealer add-on? If so you can likely negotiate all that out.

I think its dealer add-on. Yeah I'll try to negotiate that out. I'll post back here after I finish haggling for the final circle price.

I'm purchasing a dealer demo car from Edmonton Genesis. It is a 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport AWD, mallorca blue color. It has about 13000km on it. They had it listed for $54900, I worked them down to $51000. I added on a second set of rims and Pirelli winter tires for easy winter swaps. The car does have a crack in the windshield unfortunately, which the dealership said they factored into the price. Supposedly the cost to replace the windshield is an astronomical $1700, so I added on the cilajet appearance protection package, as it includes 2 full windshield replacements over a 10 year span.

The car already had a llumar platinum protection film which is a nice plus, and included factory all weather floormats and window tint all around. With everything included savings are about $10000 over brand new, but the finance rate was pretty poor at 5.95%, so that ended up eating into about half of the savings vs. new. In the summer I hope to have a home equity line of credit available to move this loan over to, so the interest rate should drop off quite a bit at that time.

$789 Doc fee? Seems really high for them to do paperwork. Where I live, I expect a doc fee of $199 or less (emphasis on less). All they're doing is charging you extra to sell the car to you, which is their job in the first place. See if you can get that to a more reasonable figure. Unless there's something else included in that, seems high to me FWIW.

Good luck on the purchase and an early-congrats on a new G70!!!

He may be in Florida. They have a very high doc fee and generally won't reduce it due to some Florida law, or at least a claim of what the law means.

meanwhile . . . in Florida

Now that you mention it I think I've read or heard some reference to that in Florida. So weird how each state can determine how to let businesses screw over consumers.

It’s called States Rights

So out of curiosity, would it be worth it to try to haggle with a dealer before pulling out a circle-a certificate? Can you stack negotiated discounts on top of the circle pricing or are you in an A (pun intended) or B situation?

I severely doubt it.
Also, dealers are under no obligation to honor Circle Pricing certificates in the first place.

That’s an interesting observation, if true. What then would be the point of the certificates?

Obligation isn't certain. But if the dealer refuses, the manufacturer is not obligated to provide vehicles in a timely fashion.
