  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

We're rehashing a discussion from Post #861.
My '17 Jaguar F Pace has a push-to-open lid, which works even when the car is locked. Current thinking is that filler tubes are too convoluted to syphon anyway, or to readily force foreign material into the tank (there are less conspicuous ways to vandalize a car...).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Heck,
On my old Infiniti, if I pressed and held the unlock button on the keyfob it would drop all the windows so you could let the hot air out. I wish I still had that feature.
Heck, my 2018 Camaro SS 1LE had that. Many non luxury cars have that.

I traded up from an Infiniti (G35X) too. Dealer gave me above KBB value and I think they get incentives to poach certain brands, not positive though. Would be interesting to know which brands Genesis is stealing the most drivers from.

Looks to be Infiniti from all the posts on here from previous Infiniti owners... lol

The thing I hate the most still remains to be the dealership service. I continue having terrible dealership experiences. The latest debacle: took the car in for a grinding driver seat, fought for a loaner, had to call Corporate to establish a case, dealership says seat motor needs to be replaced. Manager says he personally ordered it and would call me to schedule warranty repair in 5 days. 14 days passed, I called, he was surprised nobody called me. After putting me on hold for 10 mins, told me they cant locate the part. Said they're Genesis parts system isnt meshing with the Hyundai parts system. Apologised and said he would track it down since he personally ordered the seat motor. Called 2 days later and said that he had to reorder the part. A week later called to schedule appointment but no loaners available but offered a shuttle... ugh I'm so done with these incompetent dealerships. The supposed Genesis customer care and carefree loaners, valet, and luxury treatment was a main reason I decided to buy a Genesis. I was suspicious and cautiously optimistic but figured the savings over the 2019 BMW 330i MSport was worth the risk... not so sure at this point.

Now I'm bracing for the repair since they are removing my driver seat, installing a new motor, and putting it all back together again. I have visions of nicks, scrapes, and scratches in my leather and upholstery. Should be fun.

This is a major annoyance here in the AZ sun. May have to Black it out. Doesn’t look like much in the photo but when it hits you right square in the eye holycrap that is bright.

This is why I'm apprehensive about going in to get my headliner looked at

do you not have tint? I live in Las Vegas and don’t have this issue...

I have had tint but this is where it comes through the windshield from above and hits just right especially when I am heading southbound

Yup, the dealers around me really dont like Genesis. Seems like they view them as a burden or something. They'd much rather just deal with the Hyundais and Hyundai owners.

What's wrong with your headliner?

Which is hilarious, they could have easily just not sued the company or just taken the buyout. 🤨

There's a whole thread about sunroof/headliner noises. I haven't pinpointed mine just yet, but it's somewhere above and to the right of my head

First thing in the morning before you drive, try pushing up on the headliner right around the area where it meets up with the front of the sunroof on the passenger side. Mine makes a little noise like there is some adhesive there that has come loose.

I'll try it tomorrow! Thanks

Well, the ownership probably made the decision based on a business case, but the employees are the ones who dont like it because they have to follow new rules and deal with more demanding customers.

That sucks. I've actually had more issues and quality problems with this car than I have with my chevys, fords, and Chrysler products. :-/

The two dealers that I used had the Genesis specialist and they did seem to be a little more sophisticated than some of the others. No problem with the waiting area for service. I don't expect imported water or coffee with hand picked beans by Juan Valdez.

I don't consider myself a snob either, But. . . . there are a couple of car dealers that advertise on TV that I find absolutely silly, Silly enough that I'd never go to that dealership if I was looking for that brand. One is making a big fuss that you will get a cruise, big TV and a tablet with every car. No thanks, just give me a good price, but evidently that stuff does attract some customers. Point is, I don't see those dealers easily transitioning to a luxury brand.

I spoke to Genesis USA Consumer Affairs yesterday and the we’re looking into the watch and said that Genesis does not have a Galaxy smart watch. Looks like it was a fake box and a real watch. At least that’s what they determined.

We've been through this. You can download the Genesis app onto any Apple/Andriod smartwatch.
