I would have preferred the 10 spoke 19" wheels better than the 20 spoke 19" in all non sport models.
I really like my dark 20 spoke wheels--one reason I went AWD over RWD, so I'm glad I did not wait.Sport will always have the dark chrome 5-spoke 19" wheels. I was referring to the 3.3T non-Sport since they have different wheels for 2019 based on AWD vs RWD. Looks like RWD stays the same for 2020 with 10-spoke silver 19's, but AWD gets 20-spoke silver 19's instead of 20-spoke black matte 18's (not a great look IMO). The 20-spoke prediction for AWD is speculation based on what the configurator shows, not on what I was told.
Same here!I really like my dark 20 spoke wheels--one reason I went AWD over RWD, so I'm glad I did not wait.
You are correct @rathvahan! Checking the online configurator, it is now showing the silver 19" 20-spoke wheels for 3.3T AWD! I guess they will morph the 2019 configurator to become the 2020 configurator (someone jumped the gun!).
So it looks like they may still differentiate the 3.3T AWD and RWD with the AWD getting silver 20-spoke 19's and the RWD getting silver 10-spoke 19's.
That may still happen. We have to wait and see what gets announced as only the configurator shows this. One could loosely argue that fewer spokes implies more sport, and more spokes implies more luxury. Doesn't make sense to me why they'd differentiate wheels between AWD and RWD unless they could make the point that RWD is more sporty than AWD. Of course they had to differentiate in 2019 because they didn't have AWD all-season rubber for the 19" wheels. Not sure how the 2020 19 inch 20 spoke silver wheels look in real life but from what is available on 2019 I liked the 19 inch 10 Spoke Silver wheels (RWD only option) the best. I wish they made those available on AWDs for 2020.
I think all 3.3T's will have 19's, but lower 2.0T trims will likely stick with 18's.Am I understanding that 2020 G70 will all have 19" wheels no matter the trim level?
These cars really need bigger rotors. With 19" wheels, even the 3.3T Sport look very pedestrian other than the calipers!
The calipers are fine. But the rotors themselves are small compared to BMW or MB.I feel like they fill out the wheel well nicely and do a good job stopping the car in an emergency situation. (Someone wanted me to meet the underside of a semi one night) The other thing to remember is the clearance for the Brembos. Bigger rotors mean pushing them outwards and taking up the already little space that exists behind em

Probably close to end of the year. We were able to place orders for them last week.Do we know when the 2020 G70 is being released for sale in the US?
Here's the normal timeline, assuming no delays - noting that each step of the process can have delays. Usual caveats; YMMV, Canada only, etc.. For the sake of this example I'll use Toronto as a baseline. Vancouver would naturally be a lot faster, anywhere east of here a bit slower.
1. Ordering: Depending where you catch HQ in the order cycle, it's usually around 2-3 weeks to get the order transmitted and into the production plan assuming we haven't already ordered the combination in question for our next batch of stock units.
2. Build/Ship: Provided the car can be sequenced in with no issues, the build is fairly quick, but the time to hit the dock and load on a boat varies. Assume 1-2 weeks to be safe.
3. Sea: From Ulsan to Vancouver is usually 2 weeks on the nose at sea. What can slow this down is if the ship diverts to Portland first. Rare but sometimes happens if the load is primarily U.S.-bound vehicles.
4. Port Processing: Call it 2-7 days for the car to get unloaded and put on a rail car, depending on the time of year and how busy the port is. Annacis Island lands all Asian inbound vehicles except for Mazda, in addition to handling processing for the west coast for some German brands. At any time there can be upwards of 15,000 vehicles on property. Busy place.
5. Rail: Once loaded, it's about 8 days on rail to our compound near Toronto.
6. Trucking: Again, timing varies on the point in the year, but call it 3-7 days to get your new car on a truck and sent for final delivery. The truck generally arrives same-day.
TOTAL: Approximately 8-10 weeks for a completely net-new order to arrive in Toronto, call it 8-12 with a bit more of a fudge factor. As I mentioned, timing can vary for better or worse, but is usually in this ballpark.
Figured I would update this here. Genesis released the changes for the 2020 G70.
New enhancements for 2020 Model Year include:
- § Available All-Season tires on 19” wheels
- § Performance Brakes on 2.0T Sport package
- § A new brighter finish on the 18” wheels
- § Availability of Power Trunk on 3.3T Prestige package
- § Addition of Brown as an option for Leather & Nappa Leather interiors
It does.So I guess the sport trim indeed doesn't get the power trunk.
