  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Yes.

Us taller people have to have to seat farther back so I can’t actually rest my arm on the armrest

So use the window sill? Wouldn't the grab handle be positioned ahead of your shoulder anyways if you're seated that far back?

I’m 6 2 and don’t have any issue with the armrest placement, but I do like putting my right arm down more than my left so I suppose that could be it. Didn’t know anyone used those grab handles so it’s cool to learn something new

I never use it for normal driving, but on a long trip I sometimes hold on to it just for the change of position. I don't know that I ever used it on entry/exit as you do have the wheel to grab.

Exactly what I do.

Probably Demographics. The G70 is sold you younger driver that are agile and easily pop in and out. The G80 has them as we are older and need them to get up so we can grab a cane or walker when we get to the arthritis doctor. .
Probably need life alert too "help, I've fallen and cant get up!"

Lol! I'm no spring chicken

Yesterday while driving my wife's 2018 Hyundai Kona I realized that our G70s backup camera is subpar compared with another Hyundais. There is no doubt the Kona backup camera has better resolution than the one in my 3.3T G70 Prestige. I remembered back in 2016 we had a thread in this forum talking about the same issue. I thought Genesis upgraded the camera but I don't think they did it. To my eyes my wife’s Kona has a crispy, clear image.

Yesterday I was backing into a parking space that had a white line to mark the perimeter. I stopped when the camera showed the bumper at the line. I exited the car and checked for location and the rear bumper was Right. At. The. Line. Nary an inch. I can trust that camera. Clarity may be in question but no distortion.

I have trust on my 4 cameras, they are spot on all the time. I'm talking about resolution. The difference is like seeing a movie at 480p vs 1080p.

Are you sure the lenses are clean? Mine are super clear. I wish the low light performance was a bit better, but still not bad

Sure they are. I wouldn't noticed if I wouldn't drove my wife's Kona. When I get the chance I would try to take some pictures of both to show you the difference.

I'm definitely curious. Resolution is better than in my last car, and better than in a friend's Mercedes (about 3 years old); and, curious about the Kona (I actually like the look of the Kona--it looks like a fun car--do you like driving it?).

OK; now you've got me curious. The resolution on my G70 camera is very, very good. The sharpest I've seen, in fact. I wonder if Genesis spec'd different cameras, lenses, etc. from different suppliers based on the build date? I may take a picture of my backup display and post here just as a baseline for comparison . . . .

Camera resolution won't matter if the screen resolution is from 1997!

Nah.... after driving the G70 what do you think? Well, is not a bad car at all, it's bigger inside for what you expect for such a small SUV. ;)

In that case, just send the image to your flip phone.

I found a gripe... the anchor points for the trunk net are not metal... I had one snap off on me.. :cautious:
