  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

I should have clarified - I mean a HUD shift light(s) that comes on when you hit redline. This could be enabled when in Sport mode. Both this and showing which gear you're in would be very helpful I think. I find I'm always having to tilt my head down a little bit to see which gear I'm in when using the paddles, as the steering wheel blocks my view of the gear indicator. Having that info available in the HUD would be fantastic.
Ah, that sounds good. I was just thinking the old nanny type. In normal driving it would drive you crazy.

Agreed. I remember my first car that had the upshift indicator... Felt like the car was nagging me and always critiquing the way I drive. Hah.

In more performance oriented cars you can set that shift point where you want. I know my old Subie had it that way.

Weld spatter under the paint in door jam and one tiny piece on the exterior of the door. Wtf? I was polishing the car and kept pulling pieces of my cloth on something. Upon closer inspection, there is a tiny piece of spatter under the paint. It isnt dirt or debris. I used to be a welder so I know it when I see it.

How does that pass QA? It isnt noticeable to most people but my concern is rust and corrosion over time. Paint doesnt like pointed things and I'm sure its thin on this high spot. Wont take much for it to wear away or expose over time. I'm also a certified coatings inspector.

I'd expect something like this from a non luxury brand, but come on man!

When I test drove the MT, I didn't really like the clutch pedal, which I found to be not as good as Mazda's, Hyundai Elantra's, BMW's, or Mini's.

My vote is not for the clutch pedal or engagement per se, but the ECU programming/fuel cutout after engaging the clutch in 1st and 2nd gears. It’s been discussed in other threads.

Otherwise, I can’t find anything to dislike!

While I've never posted on this thread I will now say I think it's awful the engine has to be pulled to replace a turbo. As noted by one of our disheartened posters.I know I would be bummed out.

Would you buy an Audi without Quattro?
AWD isn't just about winter driving. You can exit corners faster as well have consistent launches.
Audi, no because if not Quattro, it would be front wheel drive. I cant stand front drive cars. They plow in corners and dont scream sport sedan imo.

I found the one and only rear drive 3.3T Sport in Maryland when I bought mine. Lighter, better mileage, less maintenance, and more over steer in corners which I prefer. Plus, my G70 is a summer/nice weather cruiser anyway, so no way I was going to waste $$ on all wheel drive. I have a 4x4 RAM for daily and winter driving.

To each their own.

Doesnt really need to be pulled. Stinger guys have already proven that.

It feels cheap and is far more likely to break over time, or in very cold weather.
Then I won't have problem with it. Leased my car for just three years and I don't have plans to visit the North Pole. :woot:

I'm happy for you. I do not lease and I live in NH, where it can get plenty cold.
It's certainly not a big deal, but when I went to fill up my new $50+k sports sedan for the first time and found that the filler door was a rather wobbly piece of plastic, I had one of those WTF moments, where you can't help but wonder where else they may have cheapened it a bit to save a buck. It's one of those little things that for me makes a bad first impression. This is especially true if you're coming from another premium sedan and you're hoping you didn't make a mistake in buying a Genesis/Hyundai.

I actually find plastics more resilient than metal, especially stamped steel. If your looking for cold testing of the fuel door, then consider it done. It gets to -40 C here! My other thought is that Genesis brought us an amazing car for far less than any of the competitors. If things like the fuel door got them there, I'm 100% for it.

I had the same impression. My RAM has a metal fuel door as did my Camaro SS 1LE. Maybe they're trying to save weight... hahahaha
