  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

Here’s where things stand with my negotiation:

MSRP: 51,145 (3.3t AWD Prestige)

Circle A Price: $47,006
Lease cash: ($4,000)
Net price: $43,006
Add acq fee: $750
Cap cost: $43,756

Residual on 36/15: 47% ($24,038)

MF: .00051 (equates to a 1.2% APR borrowing $43,750....but given I’m only borrowing that much for 3 years, I’m effectively only borrowing the depreciation amount of $19,712, which makes the MF an effective rate of about 4% — total interest charge of about $1,250 over 3 yrs)

They’re using a 10% tax rate which is too high... they’re coming to $640/mo with $0 down. It’d be closer to $625/mo at my actual tax rate.

Base payment: $547 ($19,712/36)
Rent charge: $35/mo (($43,756+$24,038)*.00051)
Tax @ 7.5%: $43/mo ((547+35)*.075)

Total: $625/mo

The car was built in Nov 2018. On the lot since June. At a minimum they need to come down on the MF.

Hope the breakdown makes sense.

Thank you very much for these calculations. It's a great starting point. Too bad about the money factor but the G70 is still more car for the money compared to the competition.

I thought the max MF Genesis dealers could charge was .0004.

I think .0004 is the reserve for the Special lease programs. I think we have seen they can mark up MF any amount they can get the customer to go for.

Have to report the only bad experience with my 2 day old car is the fact that it was delivered with tons of clear
overspray over the entire car. Went back today and checked the other 8 in the same line...all the same. Turns
out the dealer has the reconditioning guy set up in the same area. They respray the traded in cars before they
go on the loi in the open air! I explained to the dealer This is not the best for what is being marketed as an upscale car. They offered to work on it but I claybared it myself. Eight hours later it’s looking good.

Wow, that is completely unacceptable. Not to mention what kind of cheap paint job the traded in cars are left with if just done in the open air with all the contaminants. I probably would have done what you did to fix it yourself because I wouldn't trust them to fix it right. They would have probably just power buffed it and taken off more of your factory clear coat. I would ask for some form of compensation for the 8 hours of labor you spent to fix their mistake if I were you.

What are dealerships taking off of msrp? (Percent) looking at the genesis g70 but have not been on a test drive.

I noticed the same thing. I’d actually love to pull the trigger, but best I can get is Circle A plus lease cash with a marked up MF (effectively $1,250). The car was built in Nov 2018, so I don’t feel that’s a good enough deal. The dealers here don’t seem to have any motivation to move any lower.
If you need any paperwork from my deal
(Circle A, base MF, $700 more off [basically the dealer fee]) let me know.

I'd be glad to help. I have $569/mo with 0 down on an AWD sport 3.3 at 12k/yr.

1st post! Love the info in this thread. Thanks to all who have shared.

Hoping to catch a good end of year deal. Test drove both the 3.3 and the 2.0. Very impressed with both but, wow, that 3.3 is a fun car!

My wife had a Hyundai Genesis Coupe when we met. The fit and finish on the G70 is light years beyond that thing.

Hi Steve,
I see you are in Central Florida. I was looking to buy but would be interested in where you bought your G70. PM me when you can.
Thanks.

Good to know, I'm in Dayton and will be in the market soon. Looks like the Columbus and Cincinatti dealerships have way more inventory than the one in Dayton. How difficult was it to negotiate the discount?

Realistically, on a 2019 3.3T Sport, what is the price range you should be looking for? Test drove a 2020 yesterday and the dealer was only willing to go $1500 under sticker on the 2019 or 2020. That put the car around $51k for the 2019 and 52k for the 2020, where I was hoping to be in the $46-48k range based on some of the posts I've been reading. Is as low as $46k completely out of the question?

Side note, my father works for Kia. Does anyone know if I can get Hyundai Circle A pricing through him?

Thank you!
