  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Wow, that's not good. I have a bungee attached to the rear ones to keep my tool box in place. I would have to change this setup because being plastic I don't think they'll last too long.

Yup, they are plastic. When the net is installed the plastic anchor points stick out. If you have a heavy box pressing against it or in my case an electric scooter in the trunk. At some unlucky point in time you may get one snapped off too.

To mention the obvious; the factory net is useless without being anchored at all 4 points...

Wonder if it’s a generic type part...that can be replaced with metal.

I just checked mine...f’ing plastic. What cheap bastards.
Just checked my G80. Magnet sticks to it. They could not have saved more than a couple of pennies to go plastic.

But just think of all the pennies they saved for the entire US fleet so far... It's like, at least $10 by now!

That does suck, pretty disappointing. If the G80 uses metal ones, maybe they can be substituted?

I have a 2018. I wonder if they have since changed them on new models? Check before you buy a set of replacements.

Had to go check mine with a magnet hoping mine somehow came with metal ones. Lol..

Small gripe: the material covering the wheel wells is horrendous. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to put a textured material in an area that is subjected to constant dirt and grime should be fired. It's nearly impossible to clean as it's like trying to wash a piece of velcro with another piece of cloth.

I've never really touched it but if it is that felt type material, it is meant fo road noise isolation.
I had it on my TL as well. If it was a smooth hard surface covering, interior cabin noise especially road noise will be louder!

Manufacturers have been using this for at least 25 to 30 years German cars have had it for a long time and yes it does reduce noise it’s not really that hard to clean hose it off you’re done

Well you learn something new all the time I guess. Although still not very easy to clean outside of some high pressure water which I can't do at my house.

Hmm, maybe that's why it was so hard to hold a normal conversation inside my old Infiniti. But man, those wheel wells were always clean. Pet peeve of mine to be able to see that dirt around a nicely shined tire.

I just cleaned up the wife’s G37X last weekend she got caught out in the rain. Had dirt and mud on the fender wells which are felt too. I just shove a hose underneath there spray away.

In the Pacific NW I used to use a long handled wheel brush to go way up under there to get clean then rinse them off

Someone may have already said it, but I hate the floppy sunroof cover. Not sure why they didnt use a more substantial hard cover unless there isnt space for it.

It looks droopy to me and I can foresee some future sagging.

Really have no complaints. But if I were to nit-pick:
1. Would have liked to have had an automatic trunk closing button on the trunk lid. Do understand that it is now on the 2020 models.
2. When opening the driver's door with my left hand too close to the handle's right inside, the bottom outside of my index finger sometimes gets pinched.
Got to remember to open the door with hand towards the left inside of the handle to avoid pinching.
With only 500 miles on the car, I'm loving it.

Can you not leave your car running and lock the doors? For example, stop at the bank, leave the car running to warm up but lock the doors as you run inside?
