So, now that my car is up and running again I figured it would be a good time to get my car set up for its first service. I contacted my local Genesis dealership, the one that jerked me around about my repair in the first place, and they quickly and nicely set up valet service for 2 days later - pretty quick!
Sure enough, one of their techs came down with a beautiful Havana Red 2.0 RWD G70 8spd. He gave me an estimate of how long it would take and what they would do, then drove my car back to the dealership.
I figured I'd take the 2.0 for a spin and see how it compares to my 3.3 AWD. Sure enough, the RWD and smaller engine certainly feels lighter, and although the power was adequate, I found myself missing the nearly instant torque you get from the 3.3. Even so I had fun, even launching it made the rear tires squeal a little bit. Sweet!

I popped the hood and started nerding out about the differences between mine and this, and immediately felt jealous about all the glorious room in the engine bay! I'm hoping to see more aftermarket support for the 2.0! There is so much room for a nice downpipe, intake, and even a turbo upgrade. Take a look!

Anyway, when the driver brought my car back we had some good car talk going, seemed like a pretty cool guy.
After he left I looked closer at my car. They handwashed the exterior, and it looked pretty good (though I do a better job myself, obviously, haha) but they didn't do anything to the interior, even though they told me theyd vacuum and detail the inside. Oh well. He also told me they would spray underneath the car and take off the underside panels, but I haven't verified if they did that or not. Not really holding them to it. Lastly, I asked what oil they used, he told me Motorcraft synthetic blend. Ugh. I'll just plan on changing it myself when I hit 6k miles with good oil. Haha.
In the end, i think in some ways my dealer is really trying to give Genesis customers a good experience, but they're definitely lacking in some areas.
Oh, one last thing. I have a small rock chip on my front grill camera I noticed a while ago, I asked if they could replace it under warranty, and they told me it's not covered. They won't even try to send a warranty claim.
Good news is that the Genesis site is saying there's another Genesis dealer in my area that's even closer, which evidently is new, as prior to that, this dealer (Vancouver, WA) was the closest one, then one in Bend, OR - who has been AWESOME to talk to over the phone, but they're 4.5 hours away so it's a tough sell to go down there for service.
Anyway, just wanted to share my experience with this dealer. I haven't been the happiest customer so far, but I suppose it could be worse! They did get me in very quickly, and did most of what they said they'd do. Haha.
