  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've had my Evo VIII since 2005 when I bought it new off the showroom floor. I've had many enjoyable moments with my car but it was starting to wear on me. So after reading many articles about the Genesis Coupe I decided to take one for a test drive yesterday. I was thoroughly impressed with it. Granted it doesn't have the raw carnalness (is that even a word) of the Evo, but it has exactly what I'm looking for right now in this stage of my life, which is a car that can still get up and go along with some highway civility. I had also looked at the G37 but was unimpressed with the price when a comparable car can be had for $12k less. I should be picking it up next weekend. There are some parts I need to remove from my car before I use it as a trade-in. I would upload a picture of my Evo but my work computer won't give me access to that site so for now here is a link from a different website showing my car.

This really is a dead forum. :D I guess I'm used to a more active forum in the Evo world.

Sorry, it HAS been a little slow around here. At least not as busy as other established forums - but it will get busier..

So congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis Coupe! I hope you post some pictures after you pick it up..

Did you take the G37 for a test drive? I'm guessing you're talking about the coupe there as well.. If so, can you give a comparison on how both cars drive?

I'm looking at the red with navigation system, but would prefer the gray one. Unfortunately none of the dealerships in the Atlanta area have a Nordschleife Gray one with navi. I did look at the G37. Actually I was first considering the G37 and then happened across the Genesis Coupe. I've read so many comparos, watched so many videos and read so many reviews that I feel that I know the car completely. It's also good to see that Road Race Performance is offering aftermarket parts for the V6. Have there been any reviews showing horsepower increase with the aftermarket catback exhausts?

this forum started fast out of the gates, but has quickly stumbled into what it was "supposed to be".

the Genesis Coupe is pretty much a dud right now. sells are horrible and the performance you get from these is laughable.

you'll see the site get bigger and better once speed shops actually get off their asses and spend some time making/fabricating parts for this car.

I'd agree on the 4 cylinder....but the 6 performance is respectable for the price. As far as sales.....Our dealer still has the 1st ones they took in.....many, many months ago.. Absolutely can not sell them here. I have never seen one on the road anywhere...not even a freakin test drive.

I see rebates in the near future......and special finance

I have test driven the V6 and was impressed with it. Granted it doesn't have the raw feel and acceleration as the Evo but for what I'm looking for right now it's perfect. I don't want the 2.0T because then I would want to mod it. I also have yet to see one on the road and the dealerships claim that they can't sell their cars below sticker because they are such a wanted car, but yet they have had their same inventory for over a month now. We'll just see how low they are willing to go when I decide I don't want to buy one of their cars and go to another dealership.

I have to say.......it is the only car on the market right now that really has my attention.

Concur. I was at first looking at the G37 but then saw the Genesis Coupe and changed my mind after reading a lot about it and comparing it to the Infiniti. I'm getting my Evo ready this weekend as a trade in for next weekend. I'm getting very excited but then again I always get this way when I'm looking at getting a new car.

I don't know if I would agree with them being a dud. Their sales could definitely be better but that just means it's a buyer's market. I do agree that it would help if more of the aftermarket manufacturers would start producing more parts. Granted companies like Buschur Racing, AMS, HKS, and RMR have some parts but most of those parts are for the 2.0T. I did notice that Road Race Motorsports has some parts for the V6 and they will definitely be getting my business as soon as I purchase the car. I'm thinking a nice catback exhaust with the quad tips will look nice on the car.

I liked the looks of the G35c better than the 37. Interior is better on 37, but back seat is smaller. I got 2 kids to put back there, sh that will be an issue. bot to mention the hugh price difference. I am a big fan of the VQ!!! But premium fuel requirement is quite a downer.. I hate putting it in my 02 Altima SE, but I do

I also have two kids but mine are 15 and 17 so I'm really not too concerned about backseat space. Not to mention my 17 year old has his own car. I was also glad to read that the Genesis Coupe takes 87 octane.

Mine are 6 and 9.....so I take to school and pick up...Back seatr important...Also coach baseball.........Need room :)
