2017/2018 radio swap in 2016 ultimate?

I'm kinda at a loss at just exactly why the 2 systems are different - wouldn't 3.8/5.0 17 spkr Lexicon jog wheel systems be the same regardless?

Read an interesting thread though about possible differences between 2015/2017 systems - 2015 vs. 2018 17-speaker Lexicon?

like I said, I'm pretty sure it is an issue with the amp not getting the correct signal/data.

a matching amp to the HU will likely resolve the issue.

Hmmm... maybe it won't work, the part numbers are different for the amps between 15-17 and 18+. This is the same for all the system variants.

I did find this though... GENESIS G80 A/V Equipment , External Amplifier 2018, 19B0202 | eBay . It should be the right one, has Lexicon stamped on it.

I dunno if I'm willing to dump all that money for AA/CP considering I'm probably going to trade my car for a 2020 5.0 in about 2 years time.

Might be worth a shot... An amp is probably way cheaper than a H/U. Or maybe not.

Hmm, ~$500 ballpark may make sense if you plan on long-term ownership, otherwise, I think SuperKing is right.

Not to mention, it might not be the end of it... what if you need a different wiring harness? Next thing you know, you have half the car taken apart... at least you'll gain some extra screws... I always have left over screws after I reassemble something... LOL

I know it sounds a bit silly but perhaps we could start a bounty here and/or on Reddit and/or on tech sites, etc. and see if we can get the community to help solve getting Apple Carplay/Android Auto on the Ultimate/9.2 inch screens. I imagine this benefits even the current 2019/2020 lines that have the larger screens.

That’s the H/U model no. Oh and sub you need to supply your own SD card also as it did not come with one! Fortunately the SD card in my current H/U played nicely with the newer H/U so no worries there
